So you pretty much didn’t raid, you didn’t do SSC, TK, BT, Mt Hyjal, ZA or SWP at all during TBC?

Tried; never got past the first bosses the few times we got there and eventually we didn’t have enough people to do anything else. Still wondering why ZA never entered the picture, though. O.o

When did a loot system based off a rng coin flip become a skill?

Getting there without paying for the ability does require skill, even if it’s nowhere near as varied as FFXIV can be; one particular dungeon boss, after dropping the entire group’s HP to single digits, gives you 10 seconds to step on a square with a value that, when combined with your HP, equals a prime number.

Keep in mind, that’s a DUNGEON boss.

While I support a ban on GDKP in SoD, I don’t think we can see them restrict GDKP in Cata-C.
In a new version like SoD, the ban can create a more positive effect, while in WOTLK - Cata, GDKP has existed for many years and created a whole community. It’s a good loot system itself so it’s very popular. The ban could lead to another population decline in Cata-C, which is too fragile to withstand another round of devastation.

Didn’t know you could pay for the boss to die and drop what you want.

What an uninformed take. GDKP is merely a loot system. The ability for the raid to clear the content is no different than it would be for a MS > OS run.

I honestly wouldn’t mind LFR, I’d most likely raid on characters that I’d otherwise not raid on with it not being an option because of the low bar it sets.

None, though it’s less because of “I don’t want to raid” like it was pre-TBCC and more “I can’t mentally handle the length and intensity of focus it requires for anything past the single-boss raids like Ony or EoE.”

Kind of wondering why people are putting in so much effort to file me into a “I don’t need to care about this person’s opinion” category, though. Most of what I’m going off of is from seeing other people doing things, like my guild leader in TBCC doing GDKPs and maybe making enough gold to cover consumables or the cheddarheads who required Sunwell equipment for UK runs because “efficiency” at a time when instances-per-hour was still REALLY low.
