Its a spicy, peppery tasting leafy green that is fantastic on pizza. Very popular in Italy. It’s been used in Italian cooking since the early days of the Roman empire.

Every time I’ve eaten arugula it has never had a taste… at all. I thought it was just a texture enhancement for the pizza cause it did do that.
It definitely has a fragrant, peppery taste. Putting it on Pizza brings that out. Just sprinkle it on RIGHT after you take the pizza out of the oven so it wilts. It’s really good.

I know cilantro tastes like soap and I can’t eat that. Do I just have some weird genetic thing going on? Is my entire life a lie?
I’ve done that and it doesn’t change the flavor of the pizza! It just adds crunch. I even pealed it off the pizza and ate it that way and still no taste. I thought it was just a crunchy garnish.
I can taste it just fine. I had pizza with Arugula just last week.
Dang! Well I’ll take your word for it on the taste and the recipe still sounds good!

Thin crust, olive oil base, gorgonzola, prosciutto, roasted garlic and arugula. Yummy!
Oooh gorgonzola is so good too. I used to work the cheese counter at Kroger, and gorgonzola always went well with bits of ham on mini toast.

Only to some. There is a genetic reason behind some thinking it tastes that way tho.
So I wonder if that has something to do with the arugula taste too.
I usually make my own crust because it’s easy. I just use Bob’s Red Mill pizza crust mix or else Jiffy Pizza crust mix in a pinch, if they’re out of red mill.
