Ban all addons that charge money

All addons that charge a fee of any kind for anything should be banned. Enforce your TOS please.

Stop letting some addons like RestedXP get away with charging people and making tons of money off of WOW while every other addon is prohibited from doing so.

Zygor is also an offender.

Please consistently enforce the rules for addons or more will start charging people further ruining Classic WOW.

You should also drastically cut back the API to kill off most addons but that’s a different discussion.

indeed, but HC is dumb so who cares

Have a read over the “TOS” and maybe post your understanding of how the addons you’re claiming break it work and go against it.

While I agree dude has no idea he is wrong and why I cant help but see the double standard. When MDR added a pay wall feature (in bfa) people threw a fit and that got shut down so fast.

You can get zygor and rested xp for free on the high seas. Just do a bit of googling and it’s pretty easy to work out. I tried em but they’re honestly not much better than guidelime for alliance. I only have limited experience with guidelime’s horde guides but they seemed a lot lower quality than sage’s alliance guide.

How about they fix the hackers/bots and free transfer of gold by these?

Continuing to report hackers/botters on Arugal after watching many, many players fly hacking through a tree behind White’s Hope Chapel (14 -17 Sept 2023)
Stratholme (and Dire Maul) has 50+ mages in it all of whom seem to be botting/hacking/gold farming and exploiting free transfers to move gold across to other servers. Arugal has perhaps 10-15 real players and hundreds of these bots/hackers/gold farmers. There are so many I can’t keep up with the reports.
Will Blizzard do anything? Is is ridiculously obvious the hackers feel untouchable.

Wild, we actually agree on this in full.

Tell me you died in hardcore without telling me you died in hardcore.

My initial reaction to this is negative but honestly, that might just be emotional. A lot of these addons require a lot of effort to create and maintain. Should people not get paid for their work?

I think the only real issue I have is the auto-advertising I see for leveling addons. I just report and move on though, that’s for Blizzard to sort out.

The addons are already free. Just stop getting them from their website.

But yeah, not only is blizz entirely ok with addon creators breaking ToS for paid addons, they’re actually complicit in it, if certain conspiracy videos are to be believed.

Many addon devs do. But they are getting paid through donations from people who want to, not because they are required to.

What rules of the TOS is Zygor breaking? You just seem like someone who wants to get rid of addons… lucky for us you’re a very small minority of the playerbase.

do zoomers really

Yes. Questie isn’t enough for some people apparently.

I think if folks were more willing to donate then I think this would be ok, but most folks don’t do this. There’s just not compelling enough reason to pay when you can get it for free.

I’ve donated to a few before, several times, because I like them and wanted to support the devs. However, I’d imagine not many can say the same. Also, if you’re willing to donate, you’re probably willing to just pay a small fee for the addon itself, so I’d imagine the core complaint comes from folks who wouldn’t donate anyway.

My biggest worry here is that this just gets out of hand. Plus how long before Blizzard creates an addon store to replace the likes of CurseForge and takes a 30% cut of all addon sales? I don’t mind paying devs for their work, but I don’t want that money to go to Blizzard. I already pay them for WoW.
