We recently had a guildie clear all of SE with us, but Warcraft Logs only show her as 3/8 (the last 3 bosses). We are concerned that she will not get credit for the Balnazzar kill for the MoP boost and we don’t plan on doing SE again.
She died early in the encounter (I don’t think she even got a spell off), but fortunately did not release spirit. She was loot eligible, so I figured it would count just like an achievement might. However, there’s no way in-game to make sure. I opened a ticket to explain this concern. The first two GMs essentially said “you’ll have to just wait and see”. Not exactly an encouraging response given that if the kill doesn’t count, she will have already missed the window to try again. Could we reform the raid next week and kill Bal again just to make sure? Probably. But that’s 30+ people going out of their way for 1 just because Blizz doesn’t want to validate internal logs.
The third GM to reply (as I re-opened the issue yet again) said that as long as she hadn’t released spirit she should be fine, but couldn’t promise anything and suggested I go to the forums in order to hopefully find someone who could validate this claim.
I’m posting here in case any devs can speak to this issue and put our minds at ease as well as others who want the same assurance on these forums that I’ve seen post.
Here’s the data in case someone checks:
Raid date: 6/17/2025
Character: Voodraka
Server: Crusader Strike-NA
Faction: Horde
I doubt it’s tied to logs. Pretty sure you hand a quest in at the prison, I am guessing it would be tied to that quest id
if she was in the raid while balnazzar was killed and did not hit release they will have a boost when it becomes available when the pre patch drops

How good is saying whatever based on nothing.
These forums are so brain rotted.
If you want a MoP boost, best bet you complete this quest. Warcraft Logs is a third party website. This would most likely be the way it’s tracked, by quest id completion.
Here’s the quest to kill Bal:
No they said killing bal will get you the boost if they were in raid when it died (doesn’t matter if they are dead or alive as long as they didn’t release)
Then they have gotten the boost

After some digging. Apparently boss kills have hidden quest ids associated with them to track kills. So this quest may not be necessarily required but I would suggest completing it still.

If requirement is “kill balnazaar” - i think it will work the same as achievements in later game versions. No matter did you died, damage boss or not, you will get credit if you are eligible for loot. WC logs is 3rd party software, and logs can be unavailable for different reasons, maybe you started logging later, blizzard indiactor that you kill the boss is if you are eligible for loot. It always worked this way, same as for achivements in later versions.

No one knows because it’s not July 1st, when the boost is supposed to become available. Going by Blizzard’s track record, they will probably screw up the validation of it (SoD dual spec LOL).
