Blizzard lets these bots run rampant due to China. These bots originate from China and after seeing what happened to Jack Ma, Blizzard won’t take any action against these bots due to fear of angering CCP and Xi Jinping and losing the market.
The problem is that the bans have to be done in waves. If you spot ban a user the moment they are flagged for botting they will then be able to work out how blizzard detected that bot and make a workaround.
There’s just no elegant solution to this and that’s why all major platforms do bans in waves. Unfortunately for us that means the bots can operate before being banned and the economy will suffer.
I can’t help but be shocked by all the bot sympathizers.
Bot’s are a legit massive problem and we have idiots that say stupid crap like “Doesn’t effect me so I don’t report them”.
Seriously you people that think having this massive amounts of bots on servers is perfectly fine are legit part of the problem with WoW.
They drive up prices, they lag places out, they make it hell to quest in area’s. But hey at least it doesn’t effect you right?
I’m not a fan of streamers, never have been and never will be because they can destroy a servers community easily by bringing massive floods of people but at least the flood of people that a streamer brings is a group of real people and not a group of computers that is bent on destroying the servers economy.
Hopefully with a streamer bringing this crap up something will actually happen because they do hold some weight being that they have sway over a lot of people.
If you really aren’t a fan of bots you should also consider calling people who buy gold without a token. They’re the ones that these bots are really there for.
And you keep on calling me ‘first a tourist’ and now claiming that if it isn’t my main server I don’t play there.
I was playing daily at that time and I was playing daily when they announced they were intending on playing on Moonguard - prior to the point in time that any problems could have happened and guess what I saw on trade chat. People from that ‘nice’ server making plans to harass that group so they would leave.
So yes, I imagine there are videos out there but the fact is there already was lag on that server and had been since the decision to remove sharding. Done at the request of the RP community because they didn’t care about lag…
Yes but that group was leveling in old content. There was no real need for anyone to be going into that old content at that point in time, unless you guessed it, they were just looking for problems.
I’ve never reported any of your posts. Maybe you should think before you respond and your posts wouldn’t be flagged to begin with? You’re blaming me for reporting your posts without any evidence. Seems like the logical thing from you as you believe a video that asmongold posted as “110% evidence of botting”.
The idea is that if it’s a low pop RP server there wouldnt be any lag.
Project 60, 70, and pretty sure 80. Some stretched it out as much as they could. I dont know about the trolling and disruption since I wasn’t party to that, but it’s irrelevant to the points of the thread anyway.
But… I am in agreement with you. I remember the ruckus and it sucked. That’s all I will say on that.
It would still lag out the area they were in. Example. On the first SL world boss day that area lagged. The rest of maldraxxus was fine. And i was on Area-52
Maybe? The idea is that if there are already 300 players in an unsharded area and 1000 more join vs a low pop server with maybe 30 the server may be able to handle 1030 better than 1300 and there wont be lag.
The numbers are random, just for the sake of clarifying with an example.
I really can’t stand Asmongold (it’s a personal thing, no hate for those that like him), and that thumbnail of his face doesn’t convince me to click the video. Sorry not sorry.
