Balancing the Vote-Kick Penalty: A Call for Change

I think the system is fine the way it is. I would have preferred the system - no penalty if you leave after first boss kill though. That was a mistake to make changes for a temporary problem but blizzard has gone to the extreme of listening too much to complaints.

Oh no. Anyways…

Please continue to disregard how the four can be the trolls instead of the one.

I mean, it worked on you didn’t it? Anyone with eyes can see you continuously calling me a troll to try and contradict, when I’ve only pointed what you have said (without calling you any names, fyi) and see what you’re attempting. I appreciate your support though! <3

edit: my bad, misread the post and explained how it used to be when you already know that haha. I’m still certain people would largely be in favor of that returning.

It’s a winning scenario right now. There’s 0 reason to change things because neither problem situation you described exists.

Please continue to tell us that we’re all trolls here in bad faith.

They can be, and it’s far, far less common

In the case of 4 trolls, they still ruin the other person’s run. It just makes that the case for 1, 2, or 3 trolls as well. It’s a terrible idea.

If the majority want to kick you for any reason or no reason, you should be gone. The alternative is a tyranny of the minority, which is far worse. 2 people being able to hold 3 others hostage will be far more abused.

As long as we can agree that if 3 out of 5 people want you gone, you’re gone… I can accept penalty reductions or whatnot as a compromise. Maybe if 4 people vote for you to go (literally everyone else), you get the penalty. If someone votes no, and 3 vote yes, there’s enough ambiguity there that while you’re still gone, you don’t get the penalty.

You took the first 4 words of a sentence and tried to use it in a fruitless attempt at trying to make a point.

You have made several implications of it, anyone with eyes can see it and infer the meaning behind your words.

I too appreciate you outing yourself as a troll for all to see. You have only helped me out.

That’s the best part! I don’t have to say anything. Your responses are doing their part for me.

From your perspective, I bet :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Your response to my “Everyone can just vote abandon the dungeon with no penalty.”

LOL, if you take evidence of your own words things that indicate you, then… glass slipper?

You’re welcome.

It doesn’t have to be though.

Very few people do anything that warrants a kick, it’s probably single digit percentages of kicks are what I would call legitimate.

Keep the vote kick, but add some skin in the game, make people vote kicking have to pay something(time), and you suddenly have very high quality indicators to identify problem players.

Only really dedicated trolls will kick someone if it means a 15 minute wait for a replacement for the run. And very few people would do the things that might get people to eat a 15 minute lockout of their own, if blizzard implemented aggressive scaling lockouts for being kicked.

Incentives determine player behavior, and incentives are not that hard to craft to get the desired behavior.

If you take evidence of my own words in their full context then you will find that I am on the side of punishing less people rather than punishing more.

So you’re the divine arbiter of truth then?

These ideas keep getting worse

My response to your idea that a troll should be able to force all 4 players to drop group instead of being able to be removed because won’t someone think of the troll’s feelings in all of this?

All these quarter-baked solutions because people assume that when they get kicked it couldn’t possibly be anything they did wrong or poorly, it has to be trolls that convinced 3 other people to kick them for no reason too.

Not even a GM could prove beyond arguement that a kick is bogus or legit without an ADMISSION by the kickers

the kicked person knows if they DID something that warranted a kick or not…or if some jerks who ARENT MMO players tossed him out over his mog choices, lmao

I would like you to quote a single statement I have made that said I was in favor of punishing people more.

I’ll even give you a hint, it’s the opposite of:
“vote abandon” “no penalty” “no penalty after first boss”

I’ll be waiting. :kissing_heart:

You’re not very good at reading comprehension are you

In this same thread Lio also said that players should never have control over having people banned from the game.

Lio also seems to think they are not part of that 5% he says is ruining the game.

Query whether Lio logs in and actually plays versus just trolling forums.

Will do.

That was easy! Heres a quote where you suggest punishing a group of 4 by having them abandon a dungeon, queue up again and restart their run instead of simply removing the one troll and continuing on with their run. Again, why are we trying to protect trolls and foster their growth in the community?

At this point Lio’s only purpose is comedic relief and that’s all I treat them as
