Balance rotation

Just started playing my Druid again: I got the convoke part but then say you are in lunar with enough AP for 1 starsurge, do you wrath till you get to 90% AP then cast SS while in Lunar? Thanks for any advice.

You want to ideally have 90AP when you enter each eclipse, and then start that eclipse with triple starsurge, as it buffs most other spells cast during the eclipse.

Best advice is to go read the icyveins guide - rotation section.

It’ll take a week wih back and forth Q and A here, or you could just read that in 5 minutes. Then ask about anything you’re not clear on.

There are 3 main reasons you want 90 AP going into your eclipse stage.

One because starsurge gives a buff to wrath and starfire that stack for the duration of the eclipse. So a star surge at the start of an eclipse will give you more buffed wraths than one at the end of the eclipse.

The second is the star lord talent. 3 stacks gives you 12% haste. You can’t refresh the buff timer. So you want to get it to 12% as soon as possible.

The 3rd is the Balance of all things legendary. It gives a ton of crit. Starsurge is your hardest hitting ability so you want to give the crit buff to that over anything else really ( in almost every setting ). That buff lasts for 4 seconds after you enter an eclipse. So that gives you 3 globals to spend. Lines up perfectly with 3 star surges.

All 3 of these things compound into 1 moment you want to push 1 button 3 times in a row. It overinflates how much actual value you get from starsurge. Making the priority of 3 starsurges in the window after an eclipse the single most important thing you can do in your rotation.

It helps you generate more Astral power with the 12% haste buff to get back to 90 Astral power for the next window. It buffs your generators that you have to cast anyways as part of the rotation. And it gives you the fat crits we all love to see so you can emotional love your little boomkin.

Thank you!
