Balance in delves / critique my build

First let me thank you for taking the time to offer advice / help. Also, I main a prot pally and I’m currently doing tier 9 delves on him. I just recently got the ilvl for tier 9 delves on my druid, and it seems beyond difficult. I really like my druid in other content, but delves just aren’t fun with him. I had a blast going through the first 7 tiers and tier 8 I could definitely feel the difficulty increase, but I enjoyed the challenge. Now that I’m trying tier 9 it’s a definite struggle. Is there something I should change on my spec? Is my gear lacking something? I know I need to get some enchants, but I can’t think that would be the only issue. Should I just mothball my druid for now, in hopes of some changes from blizzard? Thanks for any help! I appreciate most of this community. I generally find that the majority of you are kind, helpful people who are trying to make Azeroth a better place.

Please do not take this as expert opinion. I am a PvP’er, and Balance Druid is just squishy overall. The nice thing about PvP gear is that it has a lot of Versatility. For every % of damage increase from Versatility you get (until Diminishing Returns, which I can’t imagine one can reach outside of a PvP instance), you get 0.5% overall incoming damage reduction. That could probably prove very helpful in solo content such as Delves. I’d also look up guides. Probably play Keeper of the Grove, not sure about AoE build, as I don’t really use one. I hope any of this helps

Im running full warmode/conq gear or pvp crafted pieces. The build im running is a build supatease just posted recently for pvp (free starfalls/surges) but with convoke as well. 45second cd convoke is pretty massive in solo content and lines up perfectly with treants and somewhat does with incarn. With this setup i can pretty much rotate starfall and starsurge for the entire duration of incarn.

Cant really critique as im no expert either… seems we do have similar ilvl although my stats are slightly different. We have a slightly different build as well if you want to check out mine… I dont think you need things like inervate for delves and a few others talents where we went different ways…

Having said that I have not started doing tier 9s yet but I do find I have to be very careful with my pulls in 8s. I can usually get though the 8s with no deaths but they can take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes because of my smaller pulls.

We are definitely not pallys though so it might just be having to take it slower.

You wrote a whole bunch of words but you forgot to mention which spec are you using.

I guess it’s bear?

I macro treants with incarnation and run whirling stars. Then you can line up your trees with it and pop convoke, and everything just melts. Trees taunt everything and they hit decently hard. outside of that just pop bear form when you get low and hit frenzied regen and barkskin. That’s what works for me when I did it.

It’s doable but very tight sometimes, using the trees to taunt off you, and then rotating defensives like Mass entanglement and Typhoon to keep stuff out of your toes.

I just use Guardian to do delves, much safer, and I don’t even use special equipment, just the set I use for resto/balance but with an agi weapon. The extra adds I pull make up for the slow kill times. I do pop Balance back for bosses, because it’s easier to survive there.

I’ve found the best way to run delves as a Balance Druid is to open your talent page and click the activate button under the Guardian section.
