Thoughts on the buffs?
My thoughts on the buffs: More directed, small, meaningful, steps in a better direction
Playable in what content?
Its the best M+ dps spec in the game already lol.
The FR buff is a great start for PVP.
However, I don’t think it’s enough as it is. Better than nothing, yeah… But they need one of those 3 options:
a) Give bear form enough initial rage for both a FR and an Ironfur;
b) Buff Celestial Guardian’s Moonfire and allow Sunfire to be castable in bear form too and have those generate rage;
c) Just add something else outside of bear form, like buffing Owlkin Adept to provide defensives on proc;
Currently we can’t do much damage in bear form, so either buff the defensives even more in there or allow us to do something extra while we’re shapeshifted. Dot refreshing could be a great way to spend those seconds, since if you’re in bear form, you’re probably on the run anyway. While I don’t particularly enjoy defensives that lock you out of damage, at the very least the defensive must be really good if it does that. E.G. Dispersion.
In world content, no
In Delves, maybe
In M+, yes
In Raids, no.
In Pvp, no
These are incredible ideas. I miss when Celestial Guardian was just a flat healing received increase in bear form. I’ve been adamant that we need something – anything, for the PvP survivability department. I’d take any new mechanic that improves that at the expense of mobility or damage any day. The problem is, the conception has slowly been entrenched design and balancing-wise that Balance Druid is this somehow fluid, perfect combination between being able to stand and cast, and kite and instant-cast. But the reality of PvP nowadays is that specs just deal too much damage, have constant slows and “Micro-CCs”, and 1000 minions that Druids just have no real tools to deal with. Druid in general are still probably the most most GCD inefficient class in the game… (I miss BfA Boomy. Now you have to DoT, opposite filler x2 to enter Eclipse, empty AP… It’s too formulaic). I say we’ve been due for a complete overhaul (for Midnight. Make it happen, please! Start testing EARLY in Alpha like we used to and communicate with feedback!) What I envision is Elune’s Chosen being a tankier version that benefits more from casting, whereas Keeper of the Grove could even receive Keeper/Dryad customizations and be more mobile, apply slows and poisons. I think that’d make good variety while maintaining both playstyles and amping up their strengths. I’d also want a Druid of the Nightmare variant… but who knows if that will happen.
Boomie is absolutely pumping in bgs like it always has right now. With these changes the damage goes up. With a slight nerf to treant burst. So its def playable in bgs
I mean, I got to 1832 in solo shuffle before any of these changes and did it pretty quick and with out too much effort. So I’d say it’s doing okay in PvP. Though, I’ve been playing more casually. Random BG’s you’ll do great. Im not much for M+ or raids, but Raid finder you’ll do well with DPS.
Feral’s just been way stronger in 2 an 3’s, can’t really speak about Bg’s though. But like I said earlier Feral just slaps in everything, only thing Balance is currently stronger in was M+.
As long as the spec still runs Keeper, no.
