Balance Devolved

My oldest surviving alt is a balance druid (not this one). I played it since 1.5 but there was a whole period in which I backburnered it; the Eclipse mechanism was utter trash. But then it got better and I enjoyed it again. This new iteration? It’s a major step back into the bad old days.

Yah, yah, I have read all the helpful explanations of the rotation process here and elsewhere, but you know what? If it takes that much explanation then it’s broken in terms of fun. This is, after all, technically a GAME that you PLAY. This new rotation is like SCHOOL and WORK combined. Yeah, like that.

Heck it might even be effective but who can tell?

So I guess I will just play it like I want and stop worrying about my numbers.

Yeah I mean everyone here knows that I quite enjoy it. I would hardly call it work… I don’t mean to speak in a condescending manner but it’s not that difficult. It’s just more difficult than “hit one of the light up buttons” which is all empowerments were. Bloated with procs that requires no thought or planning.

With that said, I get that appeal for some players. But many druid fans play the spec because of its intricacy. I don’t know, I don’t wanna rant. I’m loving the new system though.

The game literally tells you what to do by lighting up buttons and procs.

So much this. There really isn’t much that makes specs different anymore in the game. Eclipse at least stands out as a system that noone else has. Its more than just build and spend. I definately dont think I am alone when I say it is nice to have specs where you can fine tune your gameplay. Not every class and spec should be BM hunter. The minute they all are I am donezo with wow anyways.

I hated it at first, but I’ve been giving it a real try in the pre-patch, and it’s not too different from empowerments other than the pre-gaming of eclipse states. For questing, it still feels very good, and my moonkin is still very durable. I believe that- with a little work- I’ll learn to play it in dungeons and raids.
