do you think they will succeed or lose. how and why lets get this conversation going.
I think they’ll win but I don’t think their victory will be absolute. With the Horde having to choose between whether or not they betray Sylvanas I’m really really really curious what that’s going to lead to. It might go nowhere, but has the potential for ramifications as far as faction separation goes. I’m not settled on anything yet.
They’ll win. Saurfang will get his honorable death… Sylvanas won’t die though.
blizzard has given people options to not betray sylvanas so they might do something because of that.
That’s what I meant by having to choose
Lose because who wants to see boring horde characters that are clearly written by the same guy who writes anduin? Boring and one dimensional.
Agreed. Saurfang will get the honorable exit he’s been pining for all expansion. We know from Dev leaks that Sylvanas survives. But you don’t bring Chris Metzen back to voice Thrall failing at his big aim: restoration of the Horde.
Sylvanas will be done as Warchief and on to…? Who knows. I think another casualty will be Nathanos. They can’t kill Sylvanas, so some other head needs to roll, and I believe it will be his. And I don’t think the insurgents will kill him - I think he’ll be eliminated by Sylvanas in a shocking betrayal.
Essentially, Nathanos will be the story stand-in for Sylvanas-loyal Horde players, when she decides she no longer needs them.
It is my absolute hope that if Saurfang dies its in taking a bullet for Sylvanas. If only because it would be really interesting.
That would be too Nazgrim of him to do!
Pretty much this scenario, except Thrall will appoint some other racial leader at random as warchief.
He will then ride off into the sunset on a wolf while we fruitless run after him shouting “Shane!, come back Shane! Er, Thrall!”
It would be interesting. How they’d set that scene up for Saurfang to budge from his Rebellion mindset. It’s clear he despises her, always has.
You mean the last orc that was also strictly bound by their sense of Honor? I would like to think its the most honorable thing he could do.
Scene in my head is Sylvanas and company are all talking and about to come to blows over what the Horde should be when N’Zoth/Nathanos/Alliance/Mystery Big Bad take a shot at her and Saurfang takes the shot where it would have hit Sylvanas. He could say that he did it because he has hope for the future but not the strength to see it through, leaving his hope alive in the people he saved.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, and in fact it’s more likely Blizz will just rehash that since the Horde can’t seem to differentiate between honor and blind loyalty anyway, except that Saurfang’s already gone out of his way to basically stick it in Sylvanas’ face. If Saurfang is going to die I would hope it’s Sylvanas that kills him, but that would make more sense than the writing staff can manage it seems
They will lose because Sylvanas is the Waifu of one of the Writers.
I’m just quietly hoping to see Thrall front and center so I can see his story go full circle… he really had a bad bit in Legion.
Saurfang dies saving Zappyboi, probably
Yeah, im fulling expecting yet more MoP retellings. Next we will go to Alternate Northrend where Sylvanas is the Lich Queen after she escapes her trial in ̶P̶a̶n̶d̶a̶r̶i̶a̶ Orgrimmar and flees through time (but we wont see that in game, only learn it from a book).
I feel like Blizzard is trolling us
She’ll take her undead army through the gate to Draenor, and we’ll have to go back there just so Blizz will force us to rehash our garrisons!
“But you guys said you liked WotLK so much!”
This goes beyond regular trolling. This is Zandalari trolling us.
Im half ok with this so long as we FINALLY get that Shattrah raid.
