Baine Quest Chain - Old Hatreds

Baine will give alliance players his other horn.

And in keeping with his general uselessness, it will be a “worst in slot” item.

I don’t know.

I am the Horde. And the Horde hates Baine. He needs to die.

‘Bad faith’ implies I’m arguing something I don’t believe.

Never did get an elucidation from you, or anyone else in the thread about what an Alliance theme is and what would make Baine more Alliance than Horde. More’s the pity, I suppose. I have to imagine it’s because nobody actually knows what they mean when they say that, it just feels right on an emotional level.

Given the yaungol history, I have always wanted the Chief to be a Shaman (Or Druid). My guess is because of Thrall, Blizz is reluctant to also have the Tauren leader be a Shaman also.

Speaking of that green guy…where in the world is he? It is very strange to not have Thrall in the story yet given his history with the Aspects and the Elementals. he is the ultimate plot device in this expansion’s story.

It is very weird. I know based on data-mining that Thrall is going to be involved in the orc heritage armor quest chain but beyond that… shrug I have no clue.

He’s horde and not baine, so blizzard is excluding him.

They already talked about him in the interviews. IIRC it was something like, no he won’t be a focus yet, but we will learn soon enough what his place will be in the greater orc society/future of the Horde. Also, while they didn’t confirm it, they implied he will be part of the orc Heritage armor.

Simple enough, Jaina isn’t in this expansion, so her side-kick Thrall isn’t.

Funny thing is the Horde was created to be a destructive force; it was created with the singular purpose of wiping out the draenei. it continued this out of necessity as their own war mongering destroyed their own world so they had to invade another, where they continued this cycle multiple times. Even after all theese wars this hasn’t really changed based on the previous events. The Horde likes to pretend it’s changed but without any real evidence it has. Short of renaming itself and adopting a completely different outlook they aren’t really going to be seen as having changed from that destructive force they were created to be.

The Tauren and therefore Baine are kind of the outlier in that regard they merely joined the horde at a time where it was protecting them. They aren’t overtly hostile to the alliance and seem to avoid conflict unless it is in defence. These are essentially ideals the Alliance was founded on.

I think this is why when Baine interacts with the Alliance it seems like he is more alliance because he acts the same as alliance characters.
