Throughout the our missions in Zandalar, Baine has been there to represent the Horde’s honor to the Talanji and her people. Little did he know that he played right into Sylvannas’s hands, remaining completely oblivious to what was going in Kul’tiras. If Horde and Alliance relations haven’t already soured enough, the incursions order by the Lichqueen and the theft of Derek Proudmoore’s body for her twisted schemes have doomed the Horde to damnation in the eyes of the Alliance, maybe even in the eyes of Azeroth herself…
Sylvannas’s iron grip on each of the races of the Horde have left many of our heroes too unnerved to stop her, including Lor’themar Theron! Soon to face the schackles under her corrupted regime, It’s up to Baine to redeem the Forsaken in the eyes of the Horde again! Thankfully, the newly risen Zelling has seen the light, so that just leaves characters like Lilian Voss or even Nathanos Blightcaller to reform the Forsaken into a better people.
All seems bleak now, but keep in mind that Saurfang is still out there, waiting for the perfect time to save Baine from Sylvannas’s clutches, and in turn Baine can privately introduce him to Calia Menethil, Anduin’s good friend and the TRUE queen of Lordaeron. Saurfang would be shocked and astounded to know about her holy conversion as the first “lightforged” Forsaken! As Saurfang leads his rebellion the Lichqueen, it will be up to Baine and Calia to find the rest of the Forsaken populace so that can can be redeemed in the Light!
Once High-King Anduin Wrynn learns about the Forsaken’s willing revolt towards Sylvanna’ss Orwellian dictatorship, we will be able to take her out once and for all!!! With Saurfang and Calia at his side, Baine can step up and take the mantle of Warchief to ensure everlasting peace between the Horde and Alliance for good.
Sylvannas hasn’t killed hope for peace on Azeroth yet guys!!! Don’t give up hope!!!
After seeing Sylvannas willingly murder her own Forsaken soldiers just to blackmail Baine, I realized I was wrong to doubt the true Horde. She has no honor or loyalty, even to the people she was apparently trying to save from slaughter. She needs to be removed for good.
Oh thanks for pointing that out, I’ll fix it right now!
Why would the forsaken want to be redeemed in the light? Illidan didnt want it, and he killed a naaru to prevent it! This is what makes the forsaken a great race, they dont need to be bathed in the light, and they dont need its forgiveness!! But they are not evil either (at least until recently), they have their flaws and their saving Grace’s. One thing is for sure, if cailia does become our new leader, my forsaken warlock will not be bowing down to her, but will be praying to, and making every dirty deal with demons to dethrone her
It’s only only way the Forsaken can redeem themselves in the eyes of the Alliance and the rest of the Horde for all Sylvannas has done! And just by comparing how pleasant Calia’s conversion to undeath was compared to the average forsaken raised by a Valkyr, it would be the next step in preserving the Forsaken as a race. Sylvannas’s methods cause depresion, madness, and possibly even oblivion for the souls who are raised under her command, why wouldn’t a Forsaken seek the blessing of the Naaru? It seems like a sweet deal to me!
Anduin and even now Genn Greymane has been forgiving to the Forsaken’s plight living under the Lichqueen. Even Zelling knows this! Once Baine helps Calia to save them all, they could return to their families in open arms! As soon as Sylvannas kicks the bucket, meeting their families wouldn’t mean abandoning their Horde allies as well! Tyrande and Malfurion even know how vile Sylvannas is, so maybe if Nightelves see that they can be converted to the holy light, they will realize that the burning of their home was truly on Sylvanas’s hands all along!!!
Don’t turn the Forsaken into the Forgiven. It just doesn’t jive.
The Forsaken should find their own path forward by the strength of their own willpower and drive, not be pumped full of cosmic feel good juice that magically fixes everything.
The themes that have compromised the Forsaken since their creation are important, and should remain to some extent. These include things like Shadow, Death, Struggle, and a Skewed since of Morality, among others.
Wiping all that away to create the “Forgiven” would be a massive disservice to those who play the Forsaken race. You’d be pulling the main thematic columns that have been integral to the race ever since their creation and ripping them right out.
Also, I despise the idea of Light Undead. Calia needs to take her neutered curse and go hang out with the other de-fanged cursed “victims”, the Worgen.
Well what’s there left for the Forsaken to do besides become infused with the Light? Sylvanas has broken all those pillars like with Derek for example, and has been continuing to besmirch her people since Cata. This is the path forward for the Forsaken since they willingly save their bodies from the decay Sylvannas damned them with. The Forsaken have lost their understanding of life, and now there’s a chance they can get it back without losing what makes them unique!
This would, quite literally, remove what makes them unique. Of what makes them Forsaken.
Being Undead doesn’t make them Forsaken. Being victims of a curse, whether forced upon them or willingly taken and persevering despite it, is what makes them Forsaken.
If you remove that curse, they can no longer be Forsaken.
You would be gutting the race of what makes them who they are in favor of turning them into something completely different. I cannot agree with this idea. I’m glad you feel so strongly about it. But as a “Forsaken Fan” I just cannot agree.
As it stands if the Forsaken continue down the path Sylvannas had pushed them towards, along with the rest of the Horde now, it would only mean that they return to the mannerisms of the Scourge! If she just get’s replaced by just another Forsaken and never undergo the conversion to the light, they will remain stagnate and be wiped out as no one else would want to share such a cruel and miserable existence as long as there’s a better alternative! The Forsaken NEED Calia as they will flourish as a people and no longer suffer! They will become immortal heroes of the Light and the scars they suffered from because of the Lich King and the Lich Queen will not be forgotten!
EDIT: I should also add, the Horde needs Calia since she fits very well with the other leaders like Baine and Saurfang in their good relations with the Alliance! The Forsaken deserve nothing less than their true queen to help guide them in undeath! It would be a great step forward in their story!
There is a way for Baine to save the Forsaken. Just as he will one day consume the elf Regent so he must also eat the Forsaken. They only way to save them is to eat them.
