Does anyone know if there’s an addon that forces the game to NOT put things into a particular bag?
So far none of the bag addons i’ve come across can do this.
Sadly, I never even heard of anything that could do this.
But I know in the default UI, if you open up your bags, then click on the bag icon, you can assign that bag to be used for certain things. For example Gear, if you make it for gear, than all the gear will drop into that bag instead of other bags.
I mean, I use Bagnon. I have no clue what bag something drops into. The UI just shows the item going into the first open slot haha.

AdiBags can separate things into categories, if that’s what you’re looking for.
Yea I know about the in-built preference system. Unfortunately that doesn’t stop garbage from filling up slots I don’t want it too. The game still seems to put stuff wherever it wants. Looks like there’s no addon that can do this yet.
Why would you want items to not go in a particular bag? If you use the ElvUI bag module, AdiBags, or BagNon it basically consolidates your entire inventory into a single inventory so you can sort and search for things easily. Addons like that eliminate the need to worry about positioning of items in your inventory since everything is treated as a single inventory.

I use litebag which does basically that. But that still doesn’t mean I don’t like to organise my bags. Especially when it comes to vendoring whites, greens, blues and purples I don’t want.
I find things can get messed up especially when spec changing to different weapons and Azerite gear.
Im a big fan of AdiBags. It sorts everything into categories for me. No need to worry about slots. Plus if you save gear sets, it creates a category for it so you dont unintentionally scrap your off spec gear
I think AdiBags might be the best for you then because it has a category system. What I mean by that is that you can set filters in the addon for specific items you want to be categorized in your bags separately from other things.

Will fill your bags from left to right.
There is also an addon called: “AdvancedInterfaceOptions” that has a checkbox that does this.
What I actually do, (I use default bags) is set my main bag (the one you start with) to ignore cleanup, then I put all my important things in that bag like other sets ect.
I set the second bag to Trade Goods, and my 4th bag to equipment. So it sort of looks like this, the first bag and the bag directly right of it is unorganised that fills from left to right.

Is per character, and I swear it sometimes reverts. I got sick of entering it and thats how I found “AdvancedInterfaceOptions”.
