Bad night to quest in Elwynn Forest

So last night, I was working on a low level mage in Elwynn Forest. I had managed to clear quite a bit despite that nights oddities only to be done in by a group of kobold in the second cave. For some reason, spawns were crazy last night and in hindsight, I really should have done what I was thinking: Stop questing here and just farm some cloth or something in another area. Spawns were sometimes instant where you would kill a kobold and another would instantly or near-instantly respawn to take its place. I left for a bit doing other stuff before coming back to the first cave and it seemed to slow down a little. Got what I needed along with Goldtooth and got the heck out. Second cave though I was not as lucky. I could have run back out, but I would have been running into MORE respawns because it was just that ridiculous.

Imagine if you were say, running a dungeon like Deadmines, a more or less straight shot from the entrance to the first boss. So it takes you very little time to get to the boss but then you think Oh, I need to head back to the entrance for something and turn around. Everything your party just killed however, is right back where it was as if you never killed anything except the boss. That’s what Elwynn Forest was doing last night/early morning on the Defias Pillager server especially around the two caves but significantly less crazy in other parts.

caves are bad, I died lvl 42 in a cave because of hyper fast respawns, only go in once you are a few levels higher than the mobs is my advice.

Stop going in caves! They are killers. Unless you are up 3-5 levels it’s not worth the risk.

To be honest, caves are the worst for hardcore. I never understood why they increased their respawn times. Especially when there arent many players in them.

But then again, sometimes even out in the open world respawn times are just so stupid.

I feel like respawns should be based on how many players are in that area on that specific layer.

I swear to god, these are purposefully turned up on HC realms.

Leveling two dwarves, one on PvP, one on HC, and you know the wendigo cave?

Basically a death trap on HC, but it was a total joke on non-HC because I could actually kill them faster than they appeared. I even went ahead to the trogg quarry and did the same there.

I honestly believe HC has much faster ‘hyperspawns’, and I’m not just talking about mobs spawning faster when there’s more in the area.

Both times I was alone, only on the HC realms I found myself being surrounded by respawns.

Sadly not layer specific. And also people passing over you while flying count here, so even alone in a zone, people passing by can activate hyperspawn. One of the reasons layers and megaservers are bad for HC.
