Bad News for Random BGers (SL Conquest Gear)

Ctrl + F type 100, hit enter, brings you right to it

On my phone atm. I doubt the catch up gear will be that low. Probably something they didn’t include.

I mean a fresh boost is only 390 ilvl, which honestly felt like I was like 50 expansions behind other level 120s in terms of hp and damage, so it makes sense. Multiple sources say the catch-up gear is level 100 though so I believe it

Doubtful. Most will probably decide the whole pvp gearing thing is waste of time and go back to pve for faster gear and better trinkets.

We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

You wont even get replacements for the gear you have now until like level 58 in shadowlands

I think BFA has shown if you try to force PvPers to play content that they don’t enjoy in order to gear up for PvP, they’ll just stop playing WoW.

Rated pvp will have a much better turnout in shadowlands. BfA participation actually wasn’t bad but for rated Bgs was more horde side than alliance.

Hi there,

Thank you for the information you are providing.

I am totally ok with having to put the time, energy and effort into obtaining gear. My primary issue is the discrepancy of players coming into a pvp environment wearing pve gear and thrashing those players who are wearing pvp specific gear.

Players who focus upon obtaining the best pvp/rated gear should have a distinct and inherent advantage over those wearing pve gear.

I have come back into playing WoW after a very long hiatus. Going into Shadowlands, I am truly not so interested in raiding and the high end pve content per se. I have been there and done that years ago. I have been enjoying pvp/battlegrounds, win or lose I (and my buddies) are having a blast.

My hope is that the Dev’s can fully appreciate that there is a large, diverse pvp community of players who are equal in value to those pve players.

Now with there being some more space and time to work upon the game that the Dev’s can stand back and approach the issues and concerns of the pvp/battleground/arena community of players with a thoughtful and considerate perspective.

Most of the really broken SL stuff are with the legendaries, covenant abilities and trinkets, so you won’t have to deal with that. A handful of classes are kind of overtuned just based on their abilities but it should be much better than current BFA pvp.

^^^ exactly… Why Blizz ignores this is beyond me.

Because it’s probably not as true as these forums make it out to be.

Fact check: True.

My rogue is the first character I full leveled in SL beta. It has 472 item level in BFA. I didn’t start replacing gear in SL until exactly level 58.

I’m going to agree here. I feel like it does the exact opposite. You end up caring too much about rating instead of just playing games. At least that’s what happened to me this patch and I’ve seen the error of my ways. I’m hoping to not repeat that mistake again of caring so much.

You can casually crush keystones through +15. You can’t casually crush a 1600 dh with 475 iL and 9 gushing wounds.

For those who are going to do arena to get better gear in SL, I would highly suggest that you start on it immediately once the first season starts to avoid having to deal with gear issues later in the season (like Jd is talking about). No one will have busted raid gear/trinkets early on. Procrastination will end up hurting you… bad.

Locking gear behind rating also creates issues between friends who have different skill levels in PvP.

In previous expansions, you could cap conquest together. No problems.

In BFA (and SL), the better player will tank their rating if they play with their friend who isn’t as good in PvP, requiring them to regain their CR every week or miss out on better PvP loot.

Yea in my case, I’m going to be starting week 1 on pvp and stockpiling conquest and honor. I don’t know if there is a cap like there use to be. I will stockpile a few weeks to see what I get from pve rng first and then go to the pvp vendor to fill holes.

… this is why alts exist.

Every expansion with cp had a weekly cap. If it’s like wod you’ll have to save 2-3 weeks anyway for the more expensive piece. Or at least buy the freedom trinket first then save for your weapon.

Help your friend be better :stuck_out_tongue: or make an alt or don’t care about rating when you’re a 1600 player anyway

Trust me I get it, it can be frustrating. One season I was like 7 points off 2300 which would have been a new best for me but my RBG leader decided to bring in a bunch of subs to run games for fun and I tanked over 150 points. We tanked so bad I didn’t even gain rating for like 5 wins. The amount of salt I had over that crap was enough to make me stop playing for the rest of the season. What did it ultimately solve though? Nothing. That team went on to be HotAs and if I had gotten over it and just stuck with them instead of rage quitting i’d be 2400 right now
