I was curious if there is still any sort of bad luck protection for standard items? I read about the bad luck protection for the legendary, but I was curious if there was also an internal mechanism for other items, such as double time?
I have ran that dang thing over 80 times, and only gotten 1 crappy one, Thank you!

No nothing of the sort. Keep running.
The worse luck I have heard is around 60-70 for an item, you need 2 of them so 120+ runs if you’re really unlucky.
It has never been confirmed that standard loot offered bad luck protection. There have been separate systems that offered truly individual loot - legednary drops in legion and bonus rolls - that had bad luck protection of some sort. But when a boss died and the game distributed X number of items per Y players, there has never been any confirmation that bad luck protection existed.
