I think it is a joke, a sham. Blizz should provide numbers proving it’s existence.
Is this about the Sarkareth drop?
I personally don’t think any bad luck protection should exist at all.
What’s the point of something being rare if your percentage for it increases over time, or you gain a token for it each time.
In a game where you can still fail something that blatantly states it has a 100% chance for success (i.e. mission tables) no, there is no bad luck protection.
It needs to be this way or some people will never have an item drop for them. Imagine farming a mount when the drop chance is 0.5% each time you make the kill. You could be farming that mount for 20 years and still never see it.
Yeah, and that’s the point, thats what makes them rare.
They are already rare with a baseline 0.5% drop rate. There is no need to gatekeep rarity here.
worse it’s Bad luck protection for only those doing heroic or mythic raiding as anyone doing normal or LFR gets no protection. Idk this… idea seemed nice but only favoring the high end raiders seems mean spirited when it comes to a legendary item that’s still spamming everyone non stop saying it’s been built
The legendary was announced. I found out it was a rare drop. I noped out. My life is infinitely better for ignoring its existence.
yep same here, I saw it’s effect and that it was a fist weapon and noped out as well and it’s not bugging me in the slightest. I want that two hand sword I think Neltharion’s ghost drops more than the legendary honestly
Mounts don’t have bad luck protection though, afaik. It only applies to certain things, generally raid/dungeon gear drops back when we had personal loot
I read you. I had to do the same for the Raz bow which i kept seeing drop on normal and Hero and never won. Then it gets nerfed. Items added to only be future transmog. Might as well write them off early.
Are there any plans to build in some bad luck protection for the vault or Timewalking Chests? If not, is there some way to build a smart loot system? One that checks your gear and removes the pieces you already have from the loot pool?
Or.
Perhaps some sort of Dinar like currency you can use to purchase that one piece of gear you’ve been targeting, but the RNG gods are cruel and capricious beings who love to bestow upon you the same pair of bracers for weeks on end?
Maybe I’ll get lucky and a Dev will read this. Or I could discover Narnia in my Wardrobe. Taking bets!
