I did post this in technical forums as well, but I figured most people had experience with Epic BGs on this forum.
I am unsure why my FPS drops to single digits while in Epic BG fights. If it’s a full 40v40? My WoW will flat out crash. If it’s 20 v 20, it will just freeze, and unfreeze, and FPS down to 1 or lower.
Lower, like 10 v 10, it’ll just be constant freezing and unfreezing, barely playable.
I am a little confused as to why this is occuring. I have a pretty solid computer. My FPS in raids and else where stays between 70-130. Arenas is always fine too.
My Graphics Quality is at 5, which is much lower than what GetForce Experience suggests and WoW suggests for my machine. Do I need to make it even lower for BGs?

CPU: I7 - 6700 3.4 GHz
SSD/HHD (Wow is installed/runs on the SSD)
16 GB RAM
OS: Windows 10
I would suggest disabling any and all add-ons you don’t need for the bgs while doing them. Going one level lower on graphics quality would probably help too. Just the easiest suggestions to try first.
Try turning this one off. Maybe compare it with Details (which is superior), but be sure to try it with neither on. There’s a ton of crap happening in a 40v40 fight and it’s watching and recording it all.
I don’t know what the Geforce vs WoW preset settings are (typically I don’t let it optimize my games) but I’d use CMAA instead of MSAA if your using AA and lower your environmental draw distance. That might help for the larger team fights.
You can systematically go through non essential addons to figure out if any are lowering your FPS as well
I had the same issue… dropped setting to 1… cant see more than 20 feet in front of my toon… the tauren mill brawl was tough… was still glitchy when the fights start…

Happens to me after an intense clash of a fight normally on a 40vs40 BG. I have /reload macro on the side of the toolbar and quickly click on it to reload then it fixes things.
Sometimes this helps, but occasionally the same thing happens seconds later.
No clue why this happens, but try to avoid the first 5-10 second of the clash, then you should be good to go.
I do experience that from time to time. Does it feel like the FPS drops more and more until it halts? It happens in normal BGs too. I think it’s caused by an addon, but I’m not sure which one. My last suspect was BG Enemies, but you don’t have it.
The most frustrating thing is that it does it once in a blue moon. The week of TM/SS was fine for me, but then yesterdays AV crashed my game, and I had at least one epic BG before without problems. And it always happens only in BGs, not even in raids or WPvP. So some addon must be breaking stuff.
I do have addons: DBM, Gladius, Raider IO, CooldownPulse, GladiatorioSA2, GTFO, HHTD, Pawn, Skada, TellMeWhen
I should probably post in that topic in Tech support with these details.
I turned off Skada and ReFlex. IoC now runs smooth for the most part.
In my chat frame, I also turned of things like loot, skill up, trade skills, things I don’t need in BG.
No clue what it is but isle of conquest is the only Bg that lags completely hard just had 1 where everyone on both sides lagged the entire bg even when not a lot of fighting was going on anything else is fine even when theres a huge 40v40 fight going on seems to be just isle of conquest
