I used to do really good dps 63-83% and sometimes 95% once in awhile but now with this all these talent points and spells its getting too much to get in the pattern for me,now i’m lucky to get 71%,any other frost mage find that there rotation can’t handle the changes?
You were missing a lot of the core rotation fundamentals even pre-rework, essentially spamming only unempowered ice lances and only using flurries with brain freeze.
Frost’s filler spell is frostbolt, and we never press ice lance outside of into winters chill or with fingers of frost (there are some great winters chill weakauras on wago if you are interested).
Your main issues stem from treating ice lance as a filler instead of frostbolt, ignoring flurry without brainfreeze (we use it if we have any charge regardless of brainfreeze). You are also only ever using flurry after a glacial spike. Whether you Glacial Spike → Flurry or use Glacial Spike as one of the two spells consuming winters chill after flurry, doesnt matter. You also heavily overcap icicles, when you hit 5 ideally you use glacial spike asap.
Is that the case for ST? I was of the understanding that you want to shatter GS, so hold off on it to get a BF/Flurry proc. If we just cast it when its up, that makes it much easier and better to use.
Yes. Prior to this season, it was technically a 0.1% loss to GS whenever you hit 5 icicles (which isnt even statistically significant). The tier set we have now firmly made that a gain.
Thanks for the insights,i decided to install mage nuggets again and this time it’s working properly so that should help.
