Is blizzard going to ever do anything about bad actor communities that take over battlegrounds and mass report people that they don’t like?
I am being reported afk and then having to repeatedly sign the social contract because a large group is circumventing the queue system then reporting me if i get in a game with them.
Whats the point of a social contract when the person abiding by it is the one being targeted by bad actors weaponizing in game systems?
Blizzard can’t do anything with groups outside of it’s space. Chronic false reports are actioned eventually.
Things like the contract popping up and receiving warnings are automated responses for sharp increases of reports in a short time span. It doesn’t mean action was taken on your account.
I’m…not sure of your particular situation, I highly doubt anyone is important enough in random BGs to wage any kind of bizarre campaign over.
Have you played epic battlegrounds lately? it’s all large communities with hundreds of members in a chat channel. they use addons unavailable on the web to track who they play against.
Mass reporting doesn’t exist. If people are miss-using the report system, they will be punished. if there aren’t any grounds to take action against your account (IE: cursing, trolling, gameplay sabotage, etc.) then nothing will happen.
Sure, often only to get my daily win and then never again because I think they’re not very fun. Came up across a particular one where we won against them with 30 seconds remaining on WG Attack. Was a pretty good win, that, a real scrappy BG.
Another one where we won on IoC, which only happens once upon a very blue moon. We turtled in base and drained 300 reinforcements. It took nearly two hours.
I sure didn’t receive any warnings or had to re-verify the Contract. Granted I hardly think I’m important enough in any regard to be worth anyone’s time, for better or worse.
Premades or not Epic BGs often boil down to the first battle, which the losing side often loses half it’s team. They need a rework in general. Premades are a problem but if they really are focusing you, and only you, with multiple false reports, if nothing was done then nothing will happen.
Shoot we should start here first. Apparently having a differing opinion, regardless of how non-confrontational it is, can resort in mass reports and a removal.
The social contract is not connected to anything. It just pops up randomly and sometimes bugs out and continues popping up for some. A blue post covered this a while back.
There’s a lot of older gamers that never quite figured out that gaming going more mainstream means that the same kind of social reject misanthropic behavior just wasn’t going to fly anymore.
No. We just follow rules. Break the rules, deal with the consequences. It’s really that simple.
Why is it some of us have been here since Vanilla and never been suspended in this game, yet some of y’all manage to make it to a week and a half long for your suspensions?
Hurte, I really don’t want to reply to you since you’ve been doing this dance for…a while now, but you really seem insistent on spreading misinformation and singing the same ‘people are soft’ song.
You were insulting other players in BGs. You were actioned, numerous times, for insulting people in BGs. There’s no grand agenda, there’s no big song and dance.
I get it, I know I did the same thing. I look back and see things I said and did and I feel horrible about it. I can’t take back past actions and I’m affected by it to this day. A lot of guilt on things I can’t change.
But I’m working on it. I’m working on being better and forgiving myself for those mistakes. Kinda applying that to life in general as I certainly had a lot of changes the last year but it applies to how I handle myself online as well.
Maybe I am soft, I dunno, but life is too short to be burning other people in BGs going south. I don’t think anyone has to suffer through someone raging at them over a BG of all things.
If you are, indeed, quitting, best of luck on where gaming takes you. Know that many other games are much, much less lenient and it tends to be a one sided affair: There’s no place to have a conversation should you be penalized.
