Heya. I wanted to poke around here for ideas on character backstory options, specifically for my druid here. I know that I don’t want him to be a generic nelf druid (you know, the usual tropes), but beyond that I haven’t given it much thought.
I know that rp hasn’t really kicked off much yet on grob (which I expected and don’t mind yet), but if you have a sec, maybe in the meantime you have an idea I might be able to use?
Maybe you could RP as some feral night elf that has been living in the woods his entire life. A hermit of sorts. Maybe you were raised by bears and that’s how you learned to transform into different types of animals and now you are a protector of all wild life.
Jokes aside, I like the idea of weaving in foresight of the future lore of WoW, if you don’t get carried away. Anything, including being a feral hermit, is possible and viable.
Our guild being predominantly druids, rogues, and hunters RP the more feral nature of the Kaldorei as well. We are a band of roving killers hunting Orcs, Trolls, and Forsaken with impunity
So, I read Starborne’s recruitment thread and loved what I saw there. I am a little worried that it will be hard to find a spot to raid in that guild though; it sounds like they are coordinating with other grouos to raid and I’m not sure how that will work…
It is true we probably won’t be raiding “as a guild” PvE is not really our thing but we fully understand its one of the only pathways to gear. You’re welcome to come check us out for the mean time and get in on the WPvP side of things while you’re leveling though /salute
Try to figure out where your character was born, did he live there his whole life? What drives your character? Maybe you have some hidden backstory of how you are actually trying to find your long lost uncle that supposedly owns a treasure that you need to get in order to heal your sick parent. Making up stories like that is really enjoyable to be at least, then your character has a lot of depth that most people will never know about, the only way they would know about it would be by roleplaying a significant amount of time IC with you and becoming friends with your character so that he feel comfortable in revealing his secrets.
Very cool, I am sure you are right about that. I’m starting to develop a backstory this week, since my original post. It’s been helpful to review some of the replies here, so I appreciate that.
