Yeah it’s been busted since 2 patches ago something is up so I changed over to combat mace PVP until Backstab is un-ruined. My rogue has 34% base crit if you’re curious, and the fact that my backstab is rarely landing crit strike is tilting AF.
Combat mace with imp sprint and imp kick is rather enjoyable tho, it’s very efficient at deleting enemy healers; not so good vs mages tho.
my backstab crit rate vs players is 47% and vs bosses its 43%, this is over 2600 backstabs, i think the talent is working fine, in av atleast
my stun resist rate is nearly 18% which is interesting, on my horde rogue its only 8%, the orc racial existing is multiplying the stun resist cross faction by over 2 times
Yup, it’s really strange. Something is very busted. It’s either imp backstab is itself bugged somehow for certain characters OR it’s a combination of talents that bugs it.
I don’t know what is going on but it’s definitely borked bad.
I swear it feels more like imp backstab is minus 30% crit.
Sometimes I wonder if that matters because I noticed something recently about Male and Female orcs.
Male orcs almost never RNG resist my cheap shop or kidney and if they do it’s like 2-3 stuns in a row then they never resist again for the rest of a game.
Meanwhile Fem Orcs resist like 80% the time no matter what.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if different characters models are different in respect to performance. I know they have different hit / hurt boxes so it’s not a surprise if they are more different than indicated and potentially maliciously so.
My alliance rogue is a male dwarf, the horde rogue is an undead female, I don’t have the data on what race/class/gender resists the most, it just tells me information about my own abilities
Was just curious about that because I suspect things aren’t equal at all. We know 100% certain that hit boxes and hurt boxes aren’t equal at all, so it’s also reasonable to then assume other things differ as well.
The OP’s complaint is not the first time I have seen this happen either; I remember someone else talking about this same issue in Seasons of Mastery; he was playing a male UD rogue and I suspect there is something to it. My present rogue is hoomy for the PVE, but I ran into the same issue in the last patch cycle and gave up on daggers since backstab stopped behaving properly.
Let’s put it this way, my level 28 warrior with 6% base critical strike; crits more with imp Overpower than my AQ geared rogue does with backstab at the present time. Something is busted for sure.
Yup, this is the reason I dropped backstab… and I freaking LOVE backstab but right now its flat busted and I really cant figure out why… It makes zero sense but needs to be addressed but I know deep down its gonna be like 6 months before anything corrects the issue if at all ever.
In before some doofus says “RNG” because when you have a no joke 64% un-buffed chance to crit with backstab it should be almost impossible to have 3 non-crits in a row, lets alone having crit so low you may as well hit sinister strike.
Doofus chiming in to say that the probability of no crits in your scenario is 4.7%.
I’ll show myself out now.
(Jokes aside, given what I’m reading here it does seem like something isn’t working correctly in this situation. I don’t have a rogue to test for myself. A bug report is probably in order here though)
Yup, this is why we really should just demand 1.13 back so that we can have the correct out of combat timer, all the mechanics work again like “Vanilla” as closely as possible and the game NPC’s are not nerfed into the dirt using TBC versions…
ever notice you gotta wait 7 sec after PVP kill to drink or eat? or even re-stealth / prowl? Thats the TBC combat timer. The Vanilla version allows for immediate drink / eat / prowl / stealth.
