Background Static Buzzing noise coming from speakers

Hey I already solved this issue after searching google, these forums and various other places so I thought I would share with you guys because I wasted 3 hours fixing something that should have taken 10 seconds.

I have a USB Audio Interface from Presonus and every time I would play WoW or WoW Classic I would get a horrible background static noise that would vary in pitch. What fixed this for me was disabling Windows Game Bar, Xbox DVR, and the Discord Overlay and setting the VSync to ON in the WoW display settings.

If you have the Discord overlay turned on WoW will crash stating “Could not enable 3D graphics”

I believe the horrible buzzing sounds are due to the game running at a very high FPS. Once I locked the frames to 60fps the buzzing stopped immediately.

Just thought I would share since this took me 3 hours to fix and I couldn’t find a topic on this.

Thank you. This worked for me. It had been bothering me for awhile. I had never thought to turn off Windows Game Bar. It was always just running in the background.
