Everyone in this particular zone seems to experience very bad lag; myself included. Not sure if this is due to the Cobalt area but please investigate the slow down performance in this zone…
I just got into the Azure Span and noticed this strange lag when casting, looting items, and in some of my evoker abilities. On my evoker, double-tapping the spacebar causes her to jump up and glide forward, similar to the demon hunter Glide ability. I often use this to cross water. On the Waking Shore and Ohn’ahran Plains, no problem. In Azure Span, my character moves forward, dips into the water, then rises above the water (!?). And when attacking any mob, my spells have about a 1/2 second delay. When looting those mobs, I click on the mob (I’m set for auto-loot). About 1 second or so later, the little dialog box showing the loot pops on the screen. Maybe 2-5 seconds later, the auto-loot slowly begins as each item - if there’s more than one, takes a 1/2-1 second delay to drop into my bags. I confirmed that simply leaving the zone fixes the issue. I think this is an issue that needs some serious examination.
Was it while the communal soup event was going on in Iskaara? It seems like that event makes the entire zone lag something fierce. I’ve noticed I don’t have problems when it isn’t going on, but when it is my world ms goes up.
I’m still having this issue with this zone on zul’jin.
It is getting so bad that the soup is starting to lag out especially if an AFK person gets a task.
If enough afk people get tasks it bricks the soup.
its aggravating to get anything done in the zone. dragonriding is worthless, it takes 8+ seconds to loot items for quests, sometimes i cant even click the quest giver to turn things in. its pretty terrible and its occuring even on off hours.
Can confirm the zone is still VERY laggy
This has been going on for ~24 hours. It has been on basically every server (I’ve server hopped with my cross-realm friends). It gets better and worse. I was trying to quest for Loremaster last night… and it was almost unplayably bad.
I logged on today after work… and it’s even worse.
Simply moving into a differen tzone… and I play the WoW I’m used to.
In Azure Span it can take 10 seconds to loot something, my fel devestation keeps animating for ~5-10 seconds after it finishes casting, jumping to glide (or take off on a dragon…) rarely works. Lag lag lag lag lag.
Please keep bumping this thread. People have theorized that it is because of all of the people rep-grinding Cobalt, but regardless, we need some Operations visibility into this issue. The zone is basically unplayable right now.
Been experiencing this for the past few days. The lag seemed to get better for a brief 20 minutes, then the cooking event started and it was back. Severe lag of all kinds!
Only happens in Azure Span.
It’s terrible. Was really enjoying the xpac, just hit Azure span today, and the game became nearly unplayable. Seeing oddities too (quests not advancing, quests advancing but quest markers not updating, etc).
IMO this should be the P0 bug of bugs right now, as it is impacting every player who gets to Azure Span. TBH it made me not want to play my main, but the idea of going back and doing everything over with an alt after I just finished it with my main sounds too painful, so I just ended up exiting the game.
Probably not the sort of impression you want to be making!
same, takes a full 5 seconds for the quest acceptance music to play. fishing is impossible.
same, but in general on several spots arround Dragon Islands theres lag, and we need a fix pls
This is becoming rather frustrating.
Casting is lagged by 1-3 seconds, and looting can take upwards of 10+ seconds sometimes.
I generally hate doing “+1”, but in case it helps figure anything out, this is happening on Kilrogg.
I’ve confirm its really bad on every single one of my servers: Illidan, Area 52, Mal’Ganis, Zul’jin, Tichondrius, Stormrage, and Thrall. Tried server hopping but I don’t think I ever reall yphased to a lower population server. My guess it is the combination of the recent epic world quest that awards a heroic-ish ilevel weapon coupled with that fact that Azure Span is the best exp/hour zone for leveling in adventure mode. I think it is overpopulated and the servers are not able to handle the load of players in the zone.
Reporting from Stormrage. Still a very miserable experience trying to get through Azure Span leveling my warrior.
They really should have made Cobalt Assembly (if it’s the source of the lag) an instanced area. It’s already halfway to being Torghast 2.0 with the powers, might as well go all the way.
Its only in this zone and its only because of the Cobalt Assembly, there are so many groups farming that. The Cooking event doesn’t lag it all, idk why other people think this.
This Zone needs to be fixed… it is horrendous. Nearly unplayable. The lack of Blizzard replies to the many complaints to this widely obvious problem is alarming!
Same issues here. It doesn’t really seem to be connected to the cooking event, because I have plenty of lag whether the event is running or not. Not experiencing this in other zones.
Same here on Suramar. I thought it was me. My latency showed 28 and 32 for server and world.
The zone lag in Azure Span is unbearable. I really hope they fix it soon, because it makes me not want to touch the zone entirely. Maybe they recycled too much code with old content or too much phasing. I don’t know, but it is irritating. Oh and it isn’t latency. My latency is 7ms (home) / 27ms (world).
The Lag tonight is absolutely insane! I went there to do some herb/mining and boy was that a mistake…
