Let’s look at the evidence. First off, take azerite. It’s supposed to be Azeroth’s blood, right? And Titans are supposed to have arcane blood. Arcane is usually represented by the color blue. However, azerite is blue and yellow mixed, and yellow usually represents light. We know from the restored Sunwell that light and arcane can mix with no ill effect (that we know of). It’s my theory that Azeroth’s blood is, like the Sunwell, both light and arcane.
Second, look at the insanity effects of patch 8.3. This insanity is caused by the void, and the way we restore our sanity in the N’zoth fight is by using our Heart of Azeroth. We’ve been told that the void favors the chaos and freedom of infinite possibilities, while light favors one “true” path to the exclusion of all others. It makes sense that the insanity caused by an excess of void would be countered by a dose of the light, and using our Heart to channel Azeroth’s power and restore our sanity suggests that her power is in some degree related to the light.
Why is Azeroth different from the other Titans? I don’t think she started out being different. I think the light has altered her. The Void Lords sent the Old Gods into our reality in order to turn a nascent Titan to the void and become their champion. Wouldn’t it make sense if the light side of the equation did something similar? Let’s say there exists an equal and opposite opposite force to the Void Lords, the “Light Lords.” What if the Light Lords also tried to turn a Titan to their side? Wouldn’t that Titan become infused with light?
How would they do it, though? The Void Lords used the Old Gods. I suspect that unbeknownst to everyone, the Light Lords also sent a God to Azeroth in order to turn her the light, and I believe that God is Elune.
I’m not sure why she’d be a Light titan. Most of the civilizations that have existed on her the longest either revolve around arcane or nature worship. Light worship is actually incredibly new to Azeroth comparatively.
That said if she was arcane/light mix that’d explain tauren mythology pretty well. A silver eye for Mu’sha and a golden eye for An’she. The eyes of the Earth Mother.
And if Azeroth’s world soul is Elune, expressed chiefly through her silver eye and connection to the Well of Eternity and thus the arcane, it’d explain why Elune has such a fondness for the wild gods. They are the divine beings born of her life energy and who have chosen to dedicate themselves to protecting her. Her being Azeroth, which is all the natural world.
I wouldn’t be surprised if, after everything she’s been through, she’s some horrific amalgamation of every school of magic. Or at the very least void and light. They do call her the strongest of them after all.
The titans (sometimes capitalized) are a race of colossal, planet-sized cosmic beings, composed of arcane magic and the primordial matter from which the universe was born.
It being a Titan of Light already sounds stupid enough.
This is not headcanon, this is a frikin’ headcannonball that just blew my head off.
There’s no possible way Azerite is JUST titan’s blood.
Planet infested with old gods flesh. And there side quest from expeditions that leads to cultist there - states that after Sarg stab planet - whispers (of cthun) in silithus disappeared.
It’s all just a scam from Nzoth, we all been drinking old god blood all this time.
Would be fitting for ‘World of Warcraft’ huehue … I’d like to see someday down the track the Voidlords get free & perhaps possess Aman’Thul after his resurrection (Lets say, something happened & he got resurrected) – of which, Azeroth cannot fight alone - We free Sargeras, and then go to a boss fight of helping powerful beings on stages on by one, boss by boss to help empower the titans defeat the Void Titans & Void Lords — The Skybox in the background of the raid will be animated, and show the Godlike beings fighting in the cosmos.
