Azerite..?

seeing as how the sword is finally relevant again, i beg the question: Are we completely done with Azerite, lore-wise? yea, there’s all those goblin pumpjacks still working around the sword, but those were more of a “game-play first” addition for the BfA pre-patch. but seeing as how now Magni is involved again, and Azeroth herself is calling out to her champions, this time to delve deeper into her then we have before, where presumably there’d be even more azerite! did the horde and alliance just… have a Geneva convention-type deal saying “hey, stop using azerite as a weapon!” when the war ended? did Magni step in and tell them to stop? Did Gallywix stop caring since it wasn’t profitable to harvest anymore? i don’t think we’re getting another heart of Azeroth deal again, but it would at least be nice to at least have some nods to where all the azerite came from

I remember there’s a trogg with Azerite armor. Shouldn’t be long until we see more in the War Within. :robot::sweat_drops:

I can see Azerite becoming relevant again in some way. But for the most part we have stopped the hemorrhaging of it at the end of BFA. But we did see Azerite in Shadowlands, mainly Zovaals encounter. As he was draining Azeroth dry so he could access the other Zeriths. To the point that outright killing her was his main goal once he had enough.

The current event, the radiant memories, every construct and npc seems to be made of azerite, at least the visual and sound effects are the same.

I think it’s more just a visual they used to remind us that these are her memories and they aren’t actually real

Earthen have an Azerite- powered racial ability.

I do find it weird that the useless aspects are somehow empowered by the world but the actual wielder of the Heart of Azeroth hasn’t got any of their powers back.

Atleast with the Legion weapons they gave us a reason why they lost their power.

Sadly it is just one of those ‘gameplay > lore’ reasons.

Because the reason why the Heart of Azeroth does not work in Shadowlands is due being “cut off from Azeroths life source”. As stated on the HoA if you equip it while in any Shadowlands zone. Probably implying that due to the Shadowlands is another plane of reality the HoA stops working. But that does not explain why it does not work on the Dragon Isles from a lore perspective. Hence the ‘gameplay > lore’.

For the same reason, Magni hasn’t heard from Azeroth all this time… You were cut off.

I’d say the planet has stabalised but the majority of wounds throughout the planet have crystalised, had the power gone dormant and the power flow back into the world soul once more.

What Azerite & lifeblood of Azeroth remains or is utilised would be the rare odd few exceptions, but not necessarily the rule.

The Earthen of Khaz Algar are literally Azerite powered. Or something akin to it. Seems like the Titan Keepers devised tech akin to that the Eredar used to siphon power from Argus to grow the Argunite crystals that powered their tech way back when he was still a happy dreaming world soul.

More importantly: what’s gonna happen to me now that I’ve been eating these here azerite rocks for a couple years now? Am I gonna blow up like squidward?

If it does come back hopefully it’ll be a actually resource and crafting item this time and not wasted pointless power into one neckless.

I didn’t spoil myself too much this extension but for what i see, we will only get an event similar to the pre-patch meaning: Azerite apparitions.

I don’t really expect that we will get more about the Azerite.
