What happens to current Azerite traits like Cascading Calamity after the pre-patch goes live? Will it just be a dead trait since it is no longer possible to cast two UAs?

That’s what I noticed on PTR. It’s a dead trait.
Not only is it a dead trait, but the game literally would not let me choose it as a trait. I downloaded the PTR specifically to preview how my Affliction setup will look when I reforge my Azerite to work with Affliction, and the game literally would not let me pick Cascading Calamity. I would click it, the wheel would start to spin, it’d arrive at the little azerite circle slot, and then reset.
On the PTR all Azeroth traits reset when picked. You literally have to pick a trait, then zone into a new area. Then pick the next ring and change zones again. Repeat until all traits selected.

I’m sure stuff like Wracking Brilliance and Blightborn Infusion will still be good. Otherwise, not really sure. If Inevitable Demise traits still work, could be interesting to stack with the talent.
I can confirm from my testing that ID does still work.
Edit: quick trip to the PTR, Cascading Calamity does not proc, Wracking Brilliance does, ID does, the stat boosters traits work as does the generic stuff in the last ring (Vampiric speed, impassive visage, etc)
So…can you take the ID talent, have it on 3 pcs of 135 gear, and one shot ppl with drain life?

I toyed with it awhile ago, when I did, ID was broke, it would stack, but you couldnt consume the stacks, not sure if this has been addressed. The traits i tested were Sudden Onset, which worked and Pandemic, which worked as well. I figured if you can get 3 sudden and 3 wracking, that will be strong for prepatch, unless ID is fixed in which 3 ID and 3 wracking/sudden would be good. Destro pretty much all of it works? Least flashpoint, rolling and CC did…VoP kills you if major equipped (may have been fixed), and destro + mold major + rain of chaos is hilarious.
VOP major, that’s what was killing me. Thank you. It would kill me then kill me every time I ressed. As of two nights ago it was still doing it
Odd it killed my destro lock and not my boomkin.
Affliction warlocks are going to want to stack Wracking Brilliance during the pre-patch.

Thanks for the info, guys. I find it frustrating that Blizz made Cascading Calamity the ‘signature’ trait coming from Ny’alotha, yet now, essentially breaks the Azerite pieces coming from that tier with the (great) Affliction rework.
I suppose they got bigger fish to fry at this point. I got some residuum saved up so I just go rolling for a few pieces 
Between losing corruption and cascading calamity, the pre-patch is going to be ROUGH. Every cast is going to feel like Soul Fire haha
