Azerite armor cache iLvl

Anyone know why my lock who is 376.5 would have a 385 cache and my other toons that are 377 to 379 would have 370 caches?

What lvl M+ did you run? 385 sounds like you ran a +3 as your highest. The rest a +2?

It’s the world quest reward for Proudmoore faction. It’s not the M+ cache.

No idea. Maybe level scaling based on their current gear?

If you figure out this dumb gearing system in BFA let the rest of us know. Thanks!

OK thanks. Doesn’t make sense to me either.

Thanks mallace

I think, if it is like Legion, is tied to your PvE progression. Like, one did X heroic boss and the other didn’t.

Nobody knows op :rofl::rofl:

My theory is that the system works like this.

It does a quick search for your slots and sees if you have a piece of gear below the average ilevel.

You still need a minimum ilevel average to obtain each gear plateau via world quests.

Your 377 and 379 toons probably have most of the gear closer to the average than your 376 which probably has some titanforges inflating the average but a lot of gear slots below that average.

Just a big guess on my part lol.

Could be.

This guy is 376.75 and his Proudmoore Azerite cache is 385.

This guy is 378 and his cache is 370

-_-

blizz pls

I suspect, but can’t confirm, that there is the external number we see in game and an internal number where different pieces of gear have different weights in the score.

Does that make sense? I’m not quite awake yet.

It would make sense but how the heck are you supposed to know what ilvl breakpoints exist for the cache?

What do I have to hit to push the cache to 385?

You can’t really know with a system like that.

I notice the one getting the 370 cache has all purple gear and the one getting the 385 cache has 4 pieces of blue. I’d put money that, despite it not making sense, that is the cause. I know the blues have high ilvl, but, you know, software…

That’s a good point. Didn’t even think about that.

That could be the reason.

What are your neck AP levels? I cant remember, but the other day my lock, who is 33 neck level and who was ilvl 377 only got a 380 weapons cache. But after i think i hit level 34 on the neck, there was another armor cache and it said it was a 385 ilvl. These were two days apart, the caches.

Has me stumped. My other characters are 34-37 level necks and they are ALL ilvl 380-382 and got the ilvl 385 caches both times.

Believe me, it has me confused as all heck.

I suspect its something to do with your azurite armor, maybe the inner ring 5ilvls.

Nope. This guy, my pally, and my DH all are above 380 without any heroic boss kills, and no raids at all save one normal mother kill for my DK. The rest of my guys are 375-379 and got 375 caches.

The necks on both of these guys are 30.

There’s some weird stuff going on behind the scenes.

Yes there is. I also do not carry other armor in my bags to mess up my equipped and not equipped ilvls, so i am at a loss as to why my lock got a 380 weapons cache, and then the next day got a ilvl 385 armor one. Its mind boggling to me.

In the past the content you ran influenced the rewards you got. For example the mission table cache for killing a raid boss scaled depending on the number of kills you had at each raid level (lfr/normal/heroic/mythic).

I wonder if that gets factored into the calculation.

But as others have said… if you can figure out this gearing system, let us all know how it works. Thanks.
