Sassa is clickable and disappears, but quest does not update. You can leave the area and return to try again, but same thing happens. Abandoning and redoing gets same result.

Clicked her and she jumped on my head, I swam unmounted to land and she jumped off.

I clicked on her and she disappeared instantly as I fell into the water. She didn’t respawn after ~5 minutes, so I left the area, came back, and she was there again. This time I was careful not to submerge my head (used water walking as a shaman) and was able to successfully carry her to shore.

I’ll go back and try again. I didn’t even notice if it was on me, but I was also zoomed out and my headgear my headgear may have obfuscated it. Thanks for the replies.
It’s also possible I didn’t notice because I’m wearing Ohn’aran gear and it has a lot of feathers on it. Looks cool, though–imo.
Yep, that worked–NOT BUGGED. Looks like my bow was obscuring the cat–lol.
