Axesmith to Hammersmith Issues

I was an Axesmith during the Vanilla content of Classic, and made Nightfall for my guild. I was also able to craft Sulfuras, as well (which only requires Weaponsmithing.) I unlearned Axesmithing to become a Hammersmith during TBC. Strangely, I can still craft Nightfall, but Sulfuras is no longer available in the list of plans that I know. It would make sense if Nightfall disappeared, as I dropped Axesmithing. But since I’ve been a Weaponsmith all along, it would make sense that I kept Sulfuras.

Is this working as intended? (No, it’s not really affecting anything in-game for me personally. Just seems weird.)

I believe most vanilla specialization items were intentionally made available, e.g. any leatherworker can craft Wolfshead Helm now. Not sure if there’s an old patch note about it, but if you check the Plans: Nightfall tooltip, it no longer says Requires Master Axesmith.

Gotcha. But why would the HoR go away? I never unlearned weaponsmithing.

Seems like a bug if you don’t have Sulfuron Hammer.

I had the plans and even crafted it for one of the other ret paladins in my guild (same guy got the Nightfall I made.) I even had a screenshot of me making it, but that’s gone, too.

That’s odd, it seems specific to your character, as I also was an Axesmith during Vanilla and I definitely still have those patterns.

As pitiful as the ticket service is, it might be worth the time to simply open a ticket for it.

Edit: I swapped to Swordsmith first day of prepatch.

Can you still craft HoR? That’s the one that went away on my list.

Yes, I can. I have all my old recipes I even went and checked just to be sure for the post.
