Aweful lag/performance after a few mins of login

I have Mac Studio M1 Max, 64GB Ram. WoW is running from a Crucial 1GB/s read/write SSD.

Every time I log in, it’s fine at first. After about 2-3 minutes, the entire computer gets really bogged down. YT videos stop playing, app switching is extremely slow, can’t type in any app, etc. I try to walk forward in the game and 10 seconds later my character moves. After about 3-4 mins, it goes back to normal. This happens with no addons enabled and all graphic settings at the lowest.

Is this only me with this issue? Is my computer from 2022 just a POS now? Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

Just some ideas. Does it only happen when you’re playing WoW? You could try doing a proper uninstall of all of WoW and reinstalling. There are instructions online for this. You could try putting WoW on the system drive instead of the external. You could try reinstalling macOS by doing Erase all Content and Settings. You could try a different external drive or a different cable and or port. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply. I haven’t tried anything drastic like uninstalling. I was hoping to get a more targeted fix before resorting to drastic measures.

There is a “Scan and Repair” option in the Battle.net app for WoW. You could try that first.
