I feel like I remember them saying they were done after last season

I could be wrong tho

Not competing anymore

They’re bored of winning lol.

Without them + Kubzy’s team lost Wealthyman and Flop, it’s gonna be The Move vs Liquid every tourney again haha

Not really. There’s a lot of good players in the AWC. But yeah The Move and Liquid are most definitely in the top 3 the most consistently.

I mean, it helps The Move to have possibly the best healer in the game (Sterge) the best rogue in the game (Pikaboo) the best spriest in the game (Wizk) and the best cheerleader in the game (Jellybeans).

Team liquid has the best multi classer in the game (Sam) the best leader in the game (Cdew) the best all around player who does PvE and PvP at the absolute highest level (Trill) and mes who’s equally as good as any of the greats.

I mean I’ve been watching AWC for a long time. It’s been Pikaboo’s team vs Cdew’s team for years, like since BFA.

Other really good teams have come and gone - namely Luminosity and even Cloud9 not that long ago either. But besides that it’s been these two against each other for years at the top.

And without those other big teams it seems to be a repeat. Kalvish’s team is really good too and definitely a threat but we’re yet to see them take one over The Move or Liquid.

Those two teams are like super teams. They’re like the Miami Heat with Lebron and company and GS Warriors with Steph. There’s still solid teams in the league that can contend like the Spurs.

I would say Pikaboo is probably Steph and Cdew is Lebron.

Is pikaboo better than drake or whaazz? Ik whaazz is EU btw

I would say they’re all pretty equal tbh. I was just trying to write as to why The Move and Team Liquid are so dominant.

pika is better at rogue than both. But drake and whazz are better arena players

Honestly you’d know better. Was just my half baked opinion.

While Liquid had some late-surge brilliance against Kawhi/Cloud9 last xpac, I would say it’s worth remembering that when Chan/Wealthyman were teamed with Kubzy they had a multi-season run of very clearly being the best team in NA by a mile (felt like them beating Cdew was almost a meme at that point). Then Kawhi did the same thing to everyone for I can’t remember how many finals in a row.

This AWC is probably more open because (1) the two best teams in NA since at least Legion basically disbanded and (2) possibly the strongest player in the history of WoW (Mehh) just got too bored winning everything with Raiku/Whazz/Chan and so he quit.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that more due to the insane strength of MLX/ Dbl caster? Or did they play other things

I take the view that they were on top for so long that every other team had the opportunity to pick up triangle caster comps and compete, and just weren’t up to the task

did they also win vs EU or just were the NA champs?

MLD did have some insane seasons but I feel like they even crushed it when it wasn’t meta. I remember them doing frost MLD at end of BFA and basically every other mage was all fire all the time.

Remember that it was The Move that put LG in the lower bracket for the first time (Last Year). Liquid was able to beat LG in the Grand Finals last season because (in part) Trill was able to focus entirely on PvP since he stepped down/was let go, from the PvE race to World First.

I think LG saw the writing on the wall: The other teams figured out how to beat their tech, and knew it was time to step down with their legacy in tact. Which is not a bad thing at all. They were one of the true legends of PvP and raised the bar for AWC performance.

This will go down, for a long time, as top 3 best announcer reactions for a WoW tournament haha. (watch your ears… him get LLOUUDD)
