What ilvl do the awakened bullion items turn into their heroic apperances?
Well, the Heroic raid tier starts at ilevel 506, whichever that is.
I didn’t realize weapons had raid tier variations as well. I never noticed any appearance unlocks as I upgraded my Neltharax into that tier.
Mines 502 so it may not. I know the actual raid drops do but not sure about the bullions.
I have a maxed out Neltharax from the bullion vendor and I have all appearances except LFR (and I never looted one previously). You’re right, it should transition to heroic at 506, and mythic is 519.
They start at 493, which is normal/champion level, so you wouldn’t see any additional appearances until 506.
There are at least a couple items I know of without extra appearances: the Nymue Dreambinder staff and Kharnalex the evoker broodkeeper staff (although I’ve read some weird things about the transmog versions of some staves sitting on the back differently than the regular item).
You can also buy the individual mogs for 1 bullion each if you don’t have crests.
I just checked on this character. I bought Neltharax with bullions, with meant it started at 493, and I have the Normal (Yellow) appearance in my Appearances. I leveled it up past 506 and I also have the Heroic (blue) appearance. So I guess Neltharax does provide the different appearances (although the LFR look will be unavailable because all the raids are Awakened).

You can still get the LFR look by buying it with a bullion from the transmog vendor. Or if someone does not currently own the awakened bullion version, they can roll on the LFR drop from Raszageth (I have additional alts without any gear for this reason).
So Awakened LFR doesn’t prevent LFR color from dropping?
But good reminder about the bullion cosmetic.

Nope! You can still get the existing recolors from the awakened raids. I did some earlier today, so I can confirm with an offhand I looted that it is the LFR recolor. It is just really the tier sets getting messed up since they need to be from the old tiers to convert in the catalyst to get the proper appearance if that set isn’t active currently.
Editing to add for anyone else reading who doesn’t know: you just can’t roll need on LFR versions of a weapon if you already have the higher ilvl version.
And the very specific case I was talking about (Neltharax) is weird because it drops at Normal item level even in an Awakened LFR raid (as a premium drop on the end boss of a season’s raid).
According to this, Neltharax drops at 493 from Awakened LFR Raszagath.
I can’t vouch for that, since I haven’t seen a Neltharax drop in LFR.

Oh yes I totally forgot about that! Good point. I double checked the dungeon journal and if I preview them, it shows the mythic and heroic (also technically “mythic” track) as the same appearance and it doesn’t even show the LFR tint in the journal when previewing the LFR one. But, it does show the LFR tint in missing appearances and the bullion mog version is definitely that tint. I’m wondering if that’s a bug with the dungeon journal or the LFR one actually drops at the greenish tint even though it starts at champion level. I was never lucky enough to get one before bullions, either. If I manage to get it on my little hunter, I’ll report back. If not I plan to buy it with bullion!
