Trying avoid a few things since this classic launch will be deterring from things like joannas guides. Alot of the gathering quests are simply null and void now like Practical Prey (The tiger quests), as there are simply too many people and not nearly enough mobs.
Another thing Im trying to do is avoid that 10-15min deterence to Undercity to train swords. If i recall correctly, there is a free courier flight to thunderbluff or something like that from barrens. Can anyone confirm this?
This would allow me to train maces without hoofing it over to TB and let things flow more naturally until I eventually go to Undercity and pickup swords.
No, you learn mace’s in TB. And you only get the TB courier quest if your tauren. If youre orc troll, you get one to org, where you learn axes and you only learn swords in UC just make sure your hearth is available, get the swords training at lvl 10 when you leave duritar, and Heath back to xr
It takes 27 minutes to jump out the Org zepp tower, grab the Org flight path, run down to Razer hill, run west to the barrens, south to xroads to grab the flight path, run south to camp t, run west then north to TB and it’s flight path.
Flock of Seagulls wrote a song about it
Also, as others have pointed out, no free flight you gotta run to go get your destination flight path.
If you’re an Orc, the courier quest from X-Roads is back to Orgrimmar. If you’re a Tauren, the courier quest from X-Roads is… to Orgrimmar.
As an Orc, you’re going to have to run to Thunderbluff or take the Zepplin from Orgrimmar to Undercity. Ultimately its a shorter run to Undercity, but you will get multiple useful flight paths on the way to Thunder Bluff. X-Roads, Camp T, and TB itself.
Historical information records this as “Only Orc and Troll” so maybe I am mis-remembering the Tauren’s direction, but Orcs definitely go back to Org.
OK, I was talking about a completely different quest and getting it mixed up with the meat quest. There’s a timed quest given by the Apothecary that sends you to TB. If Horde races other than tauren haven’t picked up the TB FP, they have to run it. This is the quest that the OP was asking about, since it’s the one in Cata that gives the free TB FP to races that don’t already have it.
