Avoiding Rowie

There is this little guy named Rowie who keeps following me around wanting to give me a fishing quest to get fishing for Dragon Isles.

I don’t want fishing. I never took fishing. I hate fishing.

How do I get rid of this pest without taking his quest?

Best way to make a fisherman disappear is to marry them

Good luck

I’m in the same boat. The only way I could get rid of that guy was to pick up the quest and not do anything with it. Otherwise, that kid would follow me all over the Dragon Isles. Why they FORCE you to get fishing, I’ll never know. I refuse, so I guess that quest will be sitting in my quest log for a long time.

You hear a distant echo in the distance with a familiar voice… no it can’t be…

HEY...LISTEN!

encourage and force are very different things.

fishing is (clearly) a major part of everything to do with the Tuskaar.

i’m not sure why you’d choose to gimp your ability to gain rep.

I don’t want to fish. It’s as simple as that. I’ve never picked it up and have no intention of ever picking it up. Requiring that for rep gains for a major faction isn’t good. In the old days, they had the fishing guys that were a side rep, so it wasn’t required. I skipped those reps. I’d skip this one, too…but my guess is it’ll be required for the upcoming Pathfinder thing, so it’s not really skippable if the goal is to unlock regular flying. Luckily, I can still gain rep and continue on even if I don’t do any of the quests.

Nothing against Rowie, but the guy is annoying…

there are activities/quests which don’t involve fishing.

if you don’t do the starter quests, you won’t even be able to hand in the world drop items (which will advance reputation without the need for fishing)
