Avoid the latest GeForce Game Ready Drivers

Read through their forums if you want more info.
Short version: It’s causing black screens upon reboots and people are having to revert to older drivers. Mainly Displayport connections. I reverted back to Oct '24 566 version and its stable.

Hopefully this will save time and headaches for a few people at least.

Black screens as in the screen freezes sometimes?

When you reboot, you might see the MB Splash screen or might not. Sometimes you might see Windows logo, but then that’s it. Not login screen…nothing.

Having to force the computer to power down also causes problems with Windows too and then its repair fun time.

Just read through their forums, or do net search. Plenty are having issues.

Yeah latest updates made ff14 wow and a couple others not even start
way to go nvidia

I had this issue. I had to flash the card’s BIOS in order to get the displayport to actually render a BIOS screen. If you have this issue and need to get into BIOS, use an HDMI connection. It was unrelated to the latest driver.

I have 566.14 on a RTX 5070. I can see the new version is 572.47, is that the one to avoid for now?

Yeah, 572.47 is the driver version that caused all of my issues.

It would appear there are issues with 572.47.

Would be nice if Nvidia just pulled the update until it’s fixed. It’s showing still available for download on my Nvidia app.

5090s, 5080s, and 5070Tis missing ROPs apparently.

Between the Windows update being screwed up and now this… I’m not even sure I ever want to update anything ever again.

How do you roll it back?

Just uninstall the current new drivers and reinstall the old drivers. Might have to use something like DDU if you have problems. That was the procedure when I had a PC.

Yup, I have one of these cards/drivers and it certainly acts funny with some games, WoW being one of them.

Strange, I have had zero issues of any kind on my desktop PC which runs a 3080 TI, and zero issues on either of my laptops. My older laptop has an older card and this laptop as an RTX 3060. I always update upon patch releases.

Is it just the 50 series cards having issues? I have a 3080ti and haven’t had any issues with the latest drivers. In fact it fixed my performance issues with Spider-Man 2.

I updated my driver a few days ago to this and have had no issues afaik; now I’m paranoid however.

I have a RTX 3070 though; is it only affecting newer cards?

Cyberpunk 2077 was crashing at launch till I installed the lastest driver. Now I’m scurd.

Is this all cards, or 50 series? I’m on a 4090. Played for hours with no issue, thank God apparently.
