This may be a clear and personal experience here, but nonetheless:
Recently, and randomly, I’ve been getting requests for a mak’gora. Nothing really is triggering it. Just randoms finding me leveling, and wanting to kill me off. In the last 2 days, it’s happened about 7 times. Five times two days ago, and twice yesterday.
That’s seven times! And two of the times was the same person, of which I’m not even sure if they remember that they spoke to me not even half an hour ago. I don’t know about you, but even though I wouldn’t do a mak’gora even under the inclination that you’re safe and sound from the BS, I’ve lately I’ve been seeing these grief videos and catching wind of techniques where you’d accept, and they’d switch to a gear-set or something to possibly sway the duel that would alter the balance the battle in their favor tenfold.
It’s probably nothing and/or just a weird flow of awkward luck to find people wanting to delete characters so much, but just be wary! I’ve never had 5 offers in one day. Two the next day. I wasn’t even going out of my way to find duels lol.
In HC caves = graves and IMO a considerable number of mistakes resulting in death are the result of “caving” to “Mak’gora” and other optional social BS. For many of us, leveling to 60 is the goal. For “watch the world burn” types seeing you fail is the goal. How are you going to approach that is up to you.
And, is it worth more than an ear? I’d say so. Although, carrying ears is a bit weird to me. But hey, we also like to carry Boar Intestines in our bags from time to time, so yknow lol
Yea… they only do that when they know they have an easy target. I kept trying on my low level toons vs people of the same level and no one ever accepted so I gave up on it.
Those people who have 50+ ears are more than likely getting fed easy wins. They will never pick a fair fight. You think a 60 is going to Mak’Goro vs another 60 who is full epicced out and rocking full bufs and enchants? No. They mostly go for easy wins from what I have seen. I see that the vast majority of well geared 60s are left alone and never challenged. I had a level 37 come to the staring zone trying to challenge a bunch of us who were all below level 10…that’s a typical Mak’Gora duelist for you.
You’d never see one of these people trying to go against a 60 Sub rogue or 60 ele sham. Those two wreck almost anything and everything in a PvP 1v1.
The only time it can be considered griefing and can be reported is it is a regular duel, not a DTTD and then you intentionally use tactics to get the other person killed.
I got one a while back. It asked me if I’d like to be challenged to a fair Mak’gora with a same level player of a different class. I believe it was a mage. I replied “nope” and that was it.
Seemed polite, and no harassment after declining.
It wasn’t a big deal imo.
