I’m just trying to understand the purpose for the Aviana Feather regressive change. Why was is changed to absolute uselessness? This was one of my favorite items in the game. WoD was already not very enjoyable. Fix this back to the way it was please. Ain’t nobody got time for getting WoD flying man.

It’s a subtle sign that Aviana has been seriously injured/killed/corrupted. We’ll need to save her in 8.3!
Just kidding, it’s probably because it’s too much fun. They don’t want us to fly if we havent unlocked pathfinder there.

What was the nerf? I hate toys in wpvp, but I wasn’t aware of the nerf to the feather.
They made it unusable outside of dreanor if im not mistaken, many toys from dreanor got affected the same way

No, the feather was great because it would send you up high enough and move fast enough to serve as a way of semi-flying. Now, you move so slow that it doesn’t help you at all. I’m not aware of it ever being usable outside of Draenor.

I have no idea what they are thinking a lot of the time.
Until 8.2 I got a kick out of taking the mole machine from my Garrison then popping Aviana’s Feather and gliding right into the entrance of BRF for my weekly Mythic mount attempts.
But now it just goes straight up then doesn’t go anywhere.
I have Draenor pathfinder so it doesn’t really affect me, but this kind of asinine nonsense is sadly what I’ve come to expect from Blizzard on a regular basis now.

Yrel and the Lightforged were probably experimenting on Avianna which resulted in dramatically weakening the flight abilities. That’s what happened to the Water Strider after all.

Aviana’s Feather (with 1 or 2 other items) could be used as a hack. This hack (this combination, and how to use it) was published to players. I didn’t even bother getting the Feather until I read about this hack, and how powerful it was. Then I went and got it.
Blizzard evaluated this hack, decided it was too powerful, and nerfed it. Not because it was “fun” – because it was too powerful.
Remember, these guys are game designers, NOT players. To a player, “more powerful” is always better. To a game designer, who can make anything “more powerful” by changing a number, the goal is balance: not too easy, not too hard.

Before I got WoD flying (which was pretty recently), I would use the feather on the VEEEEEEERY top of my garrison, and it would allow me to pretty much fly to anywhere I wanted on the map. Very handy for getting to the Winter’s Veil Yeti area or getting to mount hunting spots.
I wouldn’t be apposed to having the feather useful again outside of WoD… But it NEEDS to be fixed so it cant be used in combat. People would run into major cities, kill all the Auctioneers and then just launch themselves into the sky in the middle of combat with 50 guards and 30 players, allowing them time to heal or just float away :L
They don’t want you flying unless you have suffered through Pathfinder.

What was the hack? Since its been nerfed there is no harm in just saying it straight anymore.
