Average timer says:

Unless you sit and do nothing it’ll pop up when you aren’t paying attention and you will have to reque.

The trouble is it creates pounds of frustration. It is never accurate. How can an average timer go from 7 mins to 22 mins and back to 8 mins and you have been in que for 30 minutes?

Did the game decide you weren’t fit for the last group?

I presume when a group is formed but one person doesn’t accept due to inactivity, it will force the queue time to go back up a bit.

That’s as good as any guess since I doubt even anybody at blizz knows either.

It’s not an omniscient timer. It’s average based upon how quickly groups are forming at the time.

My math brain tells me variances between 8 min. to 20 min. the back to 7 min. while I’ve been in que for 30 min, it is not even mathematically possible therefore another tool that just never has worked well.

The only safe thing to do is sit and do nothing hoping the timer works. It’s just another source of frustration because we know the algorithm uses more factors than time and you feel lied to.

Maybe because the number of tanks/heals in queue dramatically changes the time would be my guess.

Do some farming, wqs, superbloom/rift etc., crafting, RP in goldshire… Plenty to keep busy.

Or you could go out and do mining herbing or world quests or something.

Nothing says you have to sit around in a city and wait.

Sometimes multiple people queue up together, sometimes as different roles which then can sometimes exclude solo people n pure dps groups queueing up, so that fills the group more efficiently

The timer is just decoration. The eye is actually thermal scanning your room and will pop the queue when it no longer dectects human heat signature in the chair.

Good thing AI dungeons are coming so much timed saved.

Tl;dr: the Numbers are too low. Not enough people in queue to give an accurate estimate, mostly because queued content is irrelevant to endgame.

Hi there. Estimated times are based on pops recent pops, including those that were declined. It’s basically useless info because any number of people could join or leave queue.

You could be there for 30 seconds or 40 minutes depending on content, spec, popularity of content, time, etc.
