regular m+ player here tanking pugs up to the 5-7 range with my quick take on tanks post nerf. i have 3 tanks at 2k m+ rating in s3 and s4. so I would describe myself as a fairly typical m+ player. not pushing high end, but lots of time in these dungeons with the different tanks in modest content.
right now, my tanks are in the 486-513 ilevel range running 0s-6s since the reset. all have their 4piece sets and bullion or m+ trinkets. i felt like the keys i ran were appropriate for each toon’s ilevel.
feels strong:
prot warrior: no issues. damage intake profile as smooth as you would expect for warrior. damage dealing buff feels huge
VDH: again no issues. damage profile feels strong. self heals are fine. i miss the double sigils.
BDK: death strike heals for noticable less, but it feels manageable. blood shield heals for quite a bit still. damage profile feels good. obviously great mob control with limb, grip and grasp.
feels solid:
Guardian druid:. decent damage output although less than the tanks I listed as strong. self heals feel fine.
Brewmaster monk: damage intake feels smooth. damage output feels pretty good. I am not usually much a brewmaster, but maybe tww will be a good time to push it a bit.
feels squishy:
prot paladin: this tank just didn’t feel good. felt squishy. low damage. struggled to keep up defensive. had to really use CDs a lot. damage dealing profile felt low.
i have been thinking of beginning TWW with the prot warrior. the damage buff makes it feel really good. i would be happy with either of the other two tanks I listed as strong.
