That’s pretty much it, again. I forgot why I wrote this sequel to a old Forum Post but I’m bored so idc.

im reporting you!

What kind of bored are you? cardbored? Headbored? boredbored? cheesebored?

Yes I am aware I’m spelling it wrong.

I am all of them

Hello, I see you posted a thread about angry, middle aged nerds. Haha, this is true! Some of these people need a nice cup of coffee and a slice of cheesecake to help them feel better!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

I dont think they need coffee I think they need a nice dose of Outside Time.

They extended the creepy 50% discount to Oct 2. Tell me Retail is doomed and dead without telling me in actual Blue words.

Real talk: this is unprecedented. Not two months after the summer[July discount], it goes back up until Sept 17th, then lo and behold they extend it to Oct 2nd. I get the emails, and I see it on the Launcher.

But what Blizzard ISN’T prepared to do yet is just to give me DF for free, or make the discount even higher, to some 66-75%. I jumped into SL a year late and it was nowhere near this bad.

Well Blizzard is a Corporation and Corporations want money so…
Discounts are a pretty tempting way to get people to consume and they dont want to make it too high, so 50% is usually a norm among some business from what I have seen.

Given that I’m buying Classic Tokens, I’m already supporting the con-SOOM-ption. I may have purchased 4 Classic Tokens by now, so that’s $80 in Blizzard’s pocket from my end. I guess I have more to go before I should be “comped” with free DF since I think I purchased the Vanilla box for $50 and TBC for $40 back in the day?

At the rate I’m going, I can probably earn Wrath Classic and Cata Classic.

In all seriousness, I’m already paying Blizzard.

Well guess what my guy, Blizzard still wants money. your not gonna get anything for free unless its some weird publicity thing their doing. And you still bought the Classic Tokens as well, so if you wanted Dragonflight you could have used that 80$ worth of tokens to buy the Expac. I dont really get your point. What I’m trying to say is, it aint how Blizzard works. Or, any company for that matter.

Of course you’re going to say they still want money, because…they want MORE, man. We got to feed the monkey. That has occurred to me, man.

Yes, a trophy AAA developer, in the parlance of our times…who owes money all across the world, even to known lawyers(and that’s cool, that’s cool).

I, the royal we, are doing our best.

Quick tip: the Classic Tokens are gametime only for now. They can’t be used for Blizz store credit.

So they want money, right? Well, I want REAL WPvP. So this is the real deal: I want sharding to be fixed, I want WPvP-centric gameplay. I would like to see a stronger PvP developer collaborative effort, even to bring in the old Blizzard North guys such as Flagship and Relic if they are interested. To think that I would have spent FULL RETAIL PRICE to get this from an expansion.

Can Blizz and I trade? Forbid it I have to go back to Classic or on a private server, and I keep my money…because they sure ain’t feeding the open-world monkey.

Has that ever occurred to them…maaaan?

Then, why not make a Forum post about it? Blizz probably wont implement any of it but it could spread to the community and they would probably want it as well. There’s probably a good chunk of people somewhere on the forums who would agree with that. Is my opinion at least so you may have different views on that, and if so you can share em.

Is that creepy? An expansion that will be 100% off in about a year, that is almost a year old, and honestly more than halfway or 50% over is…. Wait for it…. 50% off? Is that… creepy or surprising?

Or does it just make sense?

I must refrain to the talking point of the creepy unliving 50% discount though. That has to communicate something important; player engagement across the board completely is at an all-time low. There’s some tangential things regarding the awokening about that too. DF is certainly a people desert now; self-evident in my Launcher and email inbox.

It’s a lot more than neglecting PvP, I’m afraid.

This would be something out of the Twilight Zone. Subliminally, I’m being egged on to just buy the xpac. But I’m not going to necessarily do it just because it’s 50% off. Even Jordan Belfort would tell you that’s not how you sell something.

SELL ME THIS PEN!
“Well, DF is a great expansion. It’s got dragon riding, a new race/class, an overhauled talent system, and right now you can get it for half off…”

Sell me this pen.

Man who would have known a conversation like the one above this post would spark in a joke forum post.

Oh, and did you know I too am also on Grobb?

We overturned a Horde raid into SW City just around midnight tonight. Were you a part of it? It wasn’t much of a raid as it didn’t last, and I earned a measly 2 City Defender HKs. I even took an L after a dgrip.

So this is the real rub: I just professed myself as a PvP man, especially a WPvP, and especially more an URBAN WPvPer. Now the trick to get me to buy DF is obviously prospects into excellent PvP, especially excellent WPvP, and especially more URBAN WPvP.

When I find the capital cities and towns to be GHOST TOWNS, even now in Retail as I can still login and see, how does that help me buy DF even at any price?

That’s what Blizzard isn’t getting. Valdrakken? That’s a sanctuary with an AH. Cross-faction? Social contract? These things KILL the true spirit of PvP, that the last bastion of defense is in Classic now. Helloooooo Kitty!

Well I was not apart of that. I mainly played some PVP games to try and get good at PVP but the people are very nicely geared. Plus I kinda got bored with the game after I got to 80, since I found leveling fun. I would ask you to train me the ways of PVP since I am actually a newer player, starting in 2020. So not really a seasoned veteran, but I’m pretty sure you have more to worry about then training some dumb guy on the Internet,

I can also see why you want world PVP back to greatness, from what I have heard before the big PVP update in Vanilla people would engage in full-on warfare in Hillsbrad. And among other things, I can understand why someone would want PvP back. So I get your reasoning there.

And also, since your seemingly a WoW Veteran I would love to hear some of your stories, this post might have gotten me back into WoW Classic again, so thanks for that as well!

When I started back in mid-June, I was amazed at how Grobbulus really captured the true atmosphere of WoW. It really felt like people could be themselves and not get upset. People could hang around each other. It actually felt like a real organically grown community. And in Classic Cata SW and Org will become more important. I can’t wait…

You can farm Honor and group-list for Arena. I did my first 11 3’s games tonight to try and buy another piece of Furious Glad before the next season in October.

If it wasn’t for Tokens, I would have laid Classic down too. Tokens actually gave me a reason to log in every day to make gold. Not to mention you can liquidate Honor to buy epic gems, so running BGs makes money too.

That’s the funny thing. I never played a Hunter before Warlords, so I had to learn how to level and PvP as one. I would go to Icy Veins as I did to get an idea on how you’d need to gear and talent up as a DK. You’d have to otherwise practice your way into it.

I will say that AMS is rather annoying, so as a DK you have an edge against magical casts. That’ll especially help against the infamous Spriest. This is currently, as it was back then, a Paladin and DK meta.

On the forums for years, people have asked for the return of PvP servers and Blizz never delivered. WM has failed us.

It’s been quite spotty. How does a core raiding failure Human Warlock from a carebear server transgress into a Goblin Hunter that would suffer an existential crisis without nothing to gank?

How does that happen? I’m sure that IRL sucky people who stab you in the back probably had nothing to do with it, or those who deliberately waste your time as they drag their feet in raid.

I can tell you stories about how I’ve wiped constantly in Scholo and UD Strat, how Warlocks had no good damage nor utility to bring for 5-mans then, and how TBC and Wrath didn’t do much to help with that.

Because unlike DF now, Warlocks couldn’t Banish undead targets, and undead targets are immune to Fear. Turns out that Warlock was something of a useful class in the hardest-core experiences, but how does a first-time MMOer get into that from nothing?

And I thought Warlocks were hard. No; Hunters had it way harder. Classic WoW actually taught me some harsh realities about the dead zone, and how kiting doesn’t work back then. I’m still playing SV(which I’m told that MM is superior back then) and I don’t kite. I lay down traps and dance out of dead zone.
