Don’t make sense, giant lying pile of bs.
Except, it does make sense…
Alliance = smaller pool of players
Horde = much larger pool of players
There are much more Horde players queuing up for bgs than Alliance players at any given time, therefore the Horde’s queue times will be longer.
“Demand” for PvP Alliance players > the supply
then don’t display average wait time as 5 minutes when i got in after 45 minutes
Ah, so that’s what you were referring to.
Yeah I’ve had that happen to me a number of times… “average wait time” said 20-21 minutes, but my bg didn’t pop until like 43 minutes
It happens, not much we can do about it. Horde queue is very unpredictable/unreliable, the “average” wait time is sometimes way off.
This is a complete guess, but I think the system looks at the wait times of the last couple of players who actually entered the bg.
So, if queues get really long and everyone drops queue, the system doesn’t update the average wait time because it doesn’t know how long it actually takes to get in.
Did you tried helping the balance of all realms trying to play with the blue dudes?
Average wait time it just that, an average of recent PREVIOUS BG queue pops. It really has nothing to do with current times. Here I sit waiting for AV to pop on Horde at 3:30 am server time. Average says 27 minutes while my wait has been 1hr 8 mins so far. It is obvious that the number of Alliance queuing at this time is way less than it was about 1-2hrs ago.
The Average Wait Time is about as realistic for current time as the weather was yesterday. I.E. completely unrelated and different. Don’t rely on the times s you will always be disapointed.
2 hours, 47 minutes in queue last night. Didn’t display an average wait time. I gave up.
Edit: I realized last night that my long queue time the night before was because I was level locked.
Epic BG queues tend to be getting worse on Horde… probably due to the amount of losses Ally have sustained resulting in less players wanting to join.
Man ^ this hits a little too close to home, I’m definitely feeling it.
But the alternative (mercing) is not ideal either since Ally loses epics the majority of the time. It’s just a lose-lose situation all around
- queue Horde? Get wins, but have to wait like 30 minutes between games.
- queue Alliance? Go thru loss after loss before you get 1 win, but the queues are 4-6 minutes.
But it gets worse - imagine sitting in a 21-27 minute Horde epic bg queue… only to see the Wintergrasp loading screen upon hitting the “join battle” button
