Avenging Crusader uptime?

Hello Hpal’s, what is the percentage of uptime you are getting on Avenging Crusader? What is the uptime on PTR? Do you find the PTR version better (costs 5 holy power)?

Haven’t been on the ptr but to be honest I rarely take AC and when I did I rarely used it I always had a better button to press and only used it for bad pulls. I do mostly 5man pve content so Might is more versatile plus Beacon of virtue pretty much carries healing. Pairing it with Divine toll instant 5 holy power may make it more appealing, will have to see.

Edit: I often forget about awakening as it’s rng, would be interested in knowing the uptime on that aswell. Still prob wouldn’t take it over Might though atleast for 5man content.

I just looked at some of my raid fight logs, cant speak to m+ or ptr, but i get around 50% uptime of AC in bossfights.

Edit:Thats combined procs of awakening and just pressing the button

Would you personally think it’s currently better then Might?

I cant speak to the math of it, I personally like it better than might for how Im approaching content this expansion. I dont have have a group I play with so Ive been doing all raids and keys in pugs where its much less coordinated and everyone’s damage spikes erratically.

It makes my judgment and cs into effective healing abilities. In M+ it hits most of the party so anytime awakening procs its judge cs cs and everyone is pretty much full. In raids being able to throw out 250k-500k over 3gcd every awakening has been great

Might increases crit by 20% which for me would bring me to 50% crit, which is nice, but its still a 50% I dont crit which means I get no benefit from the talent. The healing from judgment and cs is reliable and can hit hard. Again, I cant speak as to whats mathematically the best if some ta bot or sim were to run our class but i havent had any issues in keys or raids using the talent.

The worst part I find about AC in raids, which should be mitigated with .5, is the mana cost. Its extremely expensive. At 25000 mana just 2 activations during a fight is 20% of your mana pool. Towards the end of the fight if you are low on mana you can get blocked from using one of your most effective cooldowns.

The problem with AC in raids is the target cap and the way it heals. It doesn’t smart heal (not many abilities do) which means if 20 people are taking damage, it can heal -any- of those 20 people. It can heal 3 people at 95% hp as opposed to 3 people at 20%. The reason this is an issue despite the fact other heals also work this way is its target cap, it is limited to 3 targets which makes the fact it isn’t a smart heal much worse.

AC is pretty strong, strong enough to be competitive in raids, but people don’t take it because you lose some control over who gets healing.

AC is still designed as a talent that was made for pvp since it originally was in legion. They need to move away from the 3 target cap and make that 5 baseline, then add a talent somewhere maybe as a capstone below AC that brings its target cap up to 10 or 15. Make it an actual raid CD.

Another issue with AC is that it just doesn’t work with mastery period. Only ability in the game that just nullifies a stat completely, it straight up does not benefit from mastery at all so the stat becomes completely useless when you talent into AC.

It might be pretty crazy in 10.0.5 because of how much uptime we will have via awakening, divine purpose and ac itself but not sure yet. I am not a fan of this though because it is rng/proc based gameplay, I’d rather just have AC be our main playstyle and an actual cd.
