We should get rid of any automatic punishments. We’re all paying $15/month, they can hired someone to skim thru the reports at least. I don’t want my $15 to go to Retail.
No choice in the matter, your $15 is for WoW, Classic is a free bonus for your subscription.

You were lead, but you werent leading. Did you mark the tanks? No. Did you mark the suicide mages? No. Did you mark dordash puller? No.
So not only were you not leading, but you were hurting the raid since the markings are vitally important to the success of the match.

No one is arguing that the person should not have passed lead, but is he in no way required to. Do you honestly think someone’s account should be punished because they didn’t pass AV leadership?

So is not passing lead because you don’t want raid warnings. But here we are. This thread wouldn’t even exist if he just passed it.
I reject this posit. No one rules the AV raid.
Except one is just being a jerk, the other is wrongfully reporting and abusing automated systems into forcing others to do your will.
If you are unable to tell the difference, then I am not sure what else there is to be said.

I consider what OP did to be griefing or gameplay sabotage.
I’m not really defending the OP. Could the OP have passed Leader? Absolutely. The thing that bothers me are those in favor of using a completely different System, in order to reach their goal of Disconnecting, said individual. Which is something that System is not meant for.
It wasn’t meant to simply disconnect players that refuse to pass the Leader Role but to stop Spammers, from spamming the Public Chat Channels. I think we can all work, together, in finding a better solution and/or system, that does punish those being a hindrance, to said Group and/or Raids, rather than participating in abusing a completely different System.

Because it’s irrelevant. He could be dead silent and be doing the quest in the harpy cave for the banner all battle.
He’s under no obligation to pass leader, and what the others did was abuse of the system.
These are facts. You’re free to reckon he should have passed leader – and perhaps he should have – but none of that excuses what was done to him.
I disagree. And even if it WAS…reporting someone for spamming is not how you deal with griefing. You report the person for griefing and let blizzard GMs review the logs.

There also comes a point when you have to stand up to intimidation.
Some of the demands to pass leadership – and I have received them too (often when I go out of the window for a minute while waiting for AV to start and the guy is on the verge of yelling at me) – are pretty insistent.
I pass leadership because, frankly, I don’t have time or inclination to get sucked into any drama, but the demands and the assumption that you will cough it up are rarely diplomatic.
And still – even if they asked in the most polite way possible, if the guy won’t give up leader then that’s just bad luck.
Yep, I’d rather deal with somebody who won’t pass the Leader Role, over somebody using bullying tactics, in order to get their way.
