So just playing Devil’s advocate here.

You are in an AV with 39 other players. Those 39 other players want a specific person as lead. They ask for lead, and based on your post the first time did not have a threat in it. You refuse to pass lead, not because you are a better lead, but because of a wholly personal reason. You did not want raid warnings on “your” screen.

They ask you again, giving you the opportunity to make a decision that not based on what “you” want but what the other 39 people in the BG want.

You decline again, so the 39 people use the only tool available to them to get you to pass lead.

I was not aware there was a “Report player for not passing lead” option…

If you want the tools to kick people who’s attitudes you find poor, or who are non-compliant…retail has those features. Just because you don’t get what you want in a battleground does not justify, nor does it give you the right to abuse automated systems in order to achieve your goal.

I came to Classic because I thought it would be a chill return to a 15-year-old game which I enjoy much more than the current one, and somehow we’ve brought with us the elitism and general horribleness of high-end raid guilds from retail.

I thought everyone would be a relaxed because the content was old and going nowhere. Instead the servers are polluted by super serious pains in the neck who think they are hot stuff because they’re part of the way toward doing which we all did in 2005.

This is disgusting behavior and everyone who falsely reported you should get banned for 30 days. I believe that abusing report mechanics in order to grief other players is against TOS. This kind of siht is why I stopped caring about pvp ranking in Classic.

I expect Blizzard will do nothing.

I might have identified one of your problems.

You can always prove me wrong by not typing so passive aggressively. I told you, to your face (in this case, as much as I can, to your face, as I possibly can), how you’re presenting, yourself, to me. Which looks like I’m not the only one who feels this way. You come off very rude and want to put down other people, simply because they said something and/or did something, you didn’t like. You’re being unpleasant.

There are two options here, you can either stop or continue to do so. Doesn’t take away from my point, that some will do anything to “ruin people’s lives”. Or, to appease you, create an unpleasant environment, for them to be in, which is essentially the same thing as ruining someone’s life, if we eliminated the Video Game aspect of it.

You derailed the conversation with your response about “typing with your thumb”. Actually, both of us derailed the original Topic which was about false Reporting people. You just decided to argue about the “technicalities” of my use of the phrase “ruining people’s lives”. In the concept of this Game, hindering one’s Gameplay, I count as ruining their Gameplay which is a part of their life. Doesn’t take away from my point about others doing whatever it takes, to put others down, with any means, necessary. Just because it’s through the Game, doesn’t take away from the intent of wanting to ruin somebody’s life.

Generally, I don’t do BGs/PuGs. If I were to be in that scenario, I hate being Leader, so I would have zero issues passing Lead, in the first place. However, one refusing to pass Leader is not an action that warrants their Account into being Silenced. That’s not what that System is for.

Doesn’t take 39 Reports to get an account Silenced. Again, the Silence System isn’t for people that refuse to pass the Leader Role. It’s meant to stop Spammers, from spamming Public Chat Channels.
