Some people assume the worst in people, others hope that people act with candor.
I guess I just don’t want to believe that someone would Open with a threat, follow through, and then rub it in afterwards without something pretty major going down beforehand.
I’ve seen too much over the past few months to not suspect that there’s more than a kernel of truth to the OP’s story.
I’ve been spoken to and treated like dirt more often in AV by my own faction in the past two weeks than I’ve had bad run-ins in my entire WOW career.
Most premades are nice if you comply with what they want you to do – wait a while after queue to not get into their group again – pass leader – not dare to forget your place on the honor cap that week (and I usually do that because I’m non confronational by nature – but the second you don’t the threats, harassment, and nonsense comes out.
They only have this sort of power because the average player lets them have it. More people need to tell them NO.
And anyway – even if the OP’s story is a complete fabrication – the sort of thing it describes IS happening.

This. It’s absolutely believable after reading the toxic trash that comes out of his and a couple others self entitled mouths on these forums.

It shouldn’t be in the game at all. Wasn’t in vanilla, shouldn’t be in classic.
heh. i said it would happen and it is happening .
rcr should only have the auto silence on gold spam.
it should be an option when you right click to report someone and if anyone abuses it they should be severely punished or at least punished the lenght of what the “silence” wouldve lasted for for the person they reported.
all others would be options that if they wouldve otherwise triggered the auto squlech they get in a priority queue for a gm to review directly.
sure that would mean the system would be a little slower but it would stop these kinds of abuses from going through.
guess i was right when i said rcr needed changes .

Is this your first time on the internet? What you described happens with such regularity it almost just seems normal.

These are easy fixes, just let everyone have assist as default, if someone abusing, over using the raid-warning simply report spam and ignore till you logged out.
Instead of setting rules, handling their game, they let children, elitists and abusers silent, squelch people is new Blizzard-Activision policy. They always will cater to elitist minority, like someone said:
This feature which will be easily abused has been discussed for months even before the game released. Not a single comment from Blizzard that justify this decision.
People who assume the otherside was correct are usually the same people who do it themselves. Therefore their opinion is invalid.
I really can’t fathom how anyone thinks getting your entire raid to “Report Spam” on somebody’s single chat message to get them automatically silenced and kicked offline is a valid use of the system. But then there’s Saiph.

Whatever excuse you come with it doesn’t matter.
Threatening someone and then do a act of sorts. Technically cyber bullying.
Then they actually resort to messing with someone’s time/money
The player is paying to play and did not violate any ToS set forth in the game. Even a penny messing with ppl $$ and time is actually minor offense. If ppl cannot find offender Blizzard is held accountable. Yes, blizzard owns accounts but ppl are investing into those accounts for a certain service. The player held up rules of said agreement. Then the agreement was broken by said company when falsely accused of whatever.
So, it’s best for blizzard to hand out a short suspension before something else comes about.
Meh moving on to next thread.

Because of this toxic behavior, I would simply just pass them lead. Do you really need to be raid lead? On the other hand, next week we’re going to have multiple 5-man groups in a single AV fighting over who should be in charge.

It’s clear from numerous threads that harassment and intimidation are a major issue at the moment, especially in the PVP community.
What I’d suggest is that everyone reports every threat, every piece of verbal abuse, every person who mentions the word “blacklist” at you, every piece of griefing that you are the victim of. Every time someone swears at you in a tell. No matter how minor, a report takes seconds.
if enough of us do it, patterns will appear and bans will go out.

I don’t think we live in a world where not obeying random strangers is considered sabotage.

I miss the days when in order to report somebody, you had to actually open a ticket. You couldn’t really abuse the system.

The problem is with the current system reporting does literally nothing unless 5-8 people use the report function. The automated system won’t even trigger to show a gm an issue unless multiple people report. The only way is to actually open a ticket/take screenshots.
And anyone who can make sweeping decisions about people without hear both sides of the argument. And yes, we have only heard the OPs side so far. Should also consider their opinion invalid.
No one’s making any decisions. I don’t even care about the specific dude in particular who may or may not have done this.
What I care about is this BEHAVIOUR which is, quite clearly, happening – whether not not there’s more to this specific story or not.
You just have to have a look on the forums to see this sort of rubbish here in other threads.

Really hope you appealed this OP. Sorry it happened, I remember when beta from blizzcon first came out people were worried about this. And they were right QQ.
