AV rep in the current meta

So I’ve only ever grinded AV rep on a single character, and that was while horde constantly won. The games were much longer but so were the queues. I’m wondering what the grind to exalted is like in the current meta. With 20 minute queues rather than 2 hours, but plenty of losses and short games, how long should it take now?

I have this week off, so I was hoping to grind about 4 hours a night and was wondering if this is doable in a weeks time? Probably 24-28 hours worth of grinding. I’m just about to hit honored, so I only just started. Anyone done it recently?

AV rep grinding is EZ PZ as Horde, just loot corpses and hand in.
On Bigglesworth server the que times are anywhere between 8-15 min ques for us Horde and the win rate is usually 70%
Didn’t take me long at all to get exalted.

it’s really easy to grind AV rep ether side right now. 28 hours should be fine, I did in 2 days when the horde queues were 45 mins the last time I did a rep grind.

Vann, Bal, bunkers, turn-ins, kills they all gave rep. it’s one of the easiest reps to get in the game.

My lock was revered at 55. The rep is so easy, even with 15 to 20 min queues.

Maybe a dumb question, but do you actually have to be involved in the fight against them, or does their death just reward everyone with faction? If for some reason you are killed or whatever and aren’t there for the death, do you still get the rep?

It’s BG-wide, which is one of the reasons AFKers have been such a problem, historically. If it happens, you get rep and honor for it.

What Edivh said, although for the player kills you do have to be close to for the +1 rep.

What the hell changed in av alliance side?

That BG was garbage last I stepped foot in it

Naxx raiders are out of buff jail.

Alliance started this cubby thing that started helping them win and get confidence. That stopped but it went on to cross server alliance premades where they stomped horde and won a lot. Then it turned into this boring Drek or Kek rush with very little pvp. Recently there has been a lot of back and forth. Actual pvp on both sides. IMO if you talk about the games themselves they are probably better right now for both sides than they have been during the rest of Classic. The win rate is very close to 50 50.

rep is a joke now, I got exalted on my alt in like 3 days

AV was much better than launch. No cheesy cheats going on, and the Alliance actually try sometimes.

This is flat-out wrong. I will say that the “Drek or kek” strategy is much better for Alliance, but it’s something like a 20% win rate. Still, much, much better than the 0.1% that it has been for most of Classic. But it’s not even close to 50/50.

Have done around 60-70 AVs in the last couple of weeks

Look, I respect that you have a different experience but saying I am flat out wrong is a little excessive. Not only do I have at least 400 AVs played in the last 2 weeks (where my win rates show in a tracker) but I play both sides. in fact, I pretty much guarantee that with the amount you’ve played I’ve played with you on my alliance alt at least a few times.

I’m just giving my experience and opinions on it. There are times of the day that alliance win more and times when horde win more. The win rate is WAY UP from 99% horde.

Just lost two games in a row on my horde BTW. In both games horde was playing rush games and you should know how those go.

While the win rate is not as low on horde the rep/time is what matters more not rep/match. The largest rep increases are in the match itself. Overall the race meta is better and av rep is easy thing is long extended fights have a bad effect on rep and the shorter a match is generally there is more rep per minute with honorable kills giving only 1rep/kill compared to tower and boss kills.

If you plan on getting marshal/warlord gear you will need av marks as well.

A 50% win rate for Alliance is also being a little excessive. Alliance finally start winning more than 1 AV per 1000 matches and it’s a 50/50 win rate all of a sudden.

Said this in my post too.

I already explained that this is my experience and I have a log of my wins/losses so I am not “flat out wrong”. I’m also pretty impartial since I play both sides. Not sure what else to say.

Games played within a few weeks on the alliance, not 50% here so maybe a little exaggeration but not 20% either:

This is true, back on topic - again the AV rep is one of the easiest to get of all of them.

Someone asked in the thread what happened with the alliance in AV so I tried to explain and gave mostly history. Then I threw in that I think it’s a good time for both sides due to the win rate and I guess that was something to argue about (i still think it’s better for both sides than any other time within Classic). Sorry for the off-topic stuff OP.

Naxx raiders on the Alliance side have been beating up on TBC rerollers for literally weeks. Its almost cute considering you know they lost for a good 6 months straight.

I mean, based on my somewhat limited experience, he’s right. I started grinding it hard a couple nights ago, and out of my twenty or so games it’s definitely around 50% win. I think I’ve actually won less than 50% so far.
