Unless you are a warrior main in a parse/speed competitive guild there is absolutely nothing in AV that is mandatory to have. A few things that are nice, yes…a few things that make raid gearing easier, absolutely, some things cheaper (like mount) , sure…but absolutely nothing mandatory and nothing a raid, besides what I stated above, will require.
Do it or don’t, or do it and then choose to be miserable about it and punish yourself twice, up to you.
The entire point is pvp’rs who don’t like to raid have to put in a trillion more hours for their gear vs people who raid… I know because I do both and PVE is not only potato easy in classic its faster to gear up.
PVE gearing is so much less time consuming that you can literally play 1 or 2 days a week and raid log if you so choose.
YOU CANNOT play 1 or 2 or even 3 days per week and rank. The amount of hours needed to Rank vs PVE gearing is astronomically and comicaly swung one way.
It is pvp with objectives, people can go for objectives and pvp or just aim for one of those. I don’t mind either.
I grind AV and have fun, when it gets unfun I do wsg or take a week off. It has made my journey to r14 slower but not at all stressful. I don’t know why people flip out over this stuff.
Me too, mostly before 2019 tho. You might pvp every game, but that is an outlier. Most not only actively avoid PVP, but flame anyone suggesting anything but zerg the boss.
