AV is getting better

Believe it or not I have been seeing a lot more actual action in AV, back capping, actual PVP and a lot more of the stuff I would expect to go on in AV.

REGARDLESS of this it would be nice to have the OG AV instead.

As more people from PvE realms get exalted AV (the grind takes less than a week cause its really fast and easy), they go back to PvE and to prepare for BWL.

I raid too, but BG because it’s fun. I don’t participate to get rep or gear but to WIN…

Winning by cheese play is just dull tho, it’s a BG and I want some BLOOOD!!!

A couple things are happening I think.

First the super hardcore rep grinders already have their rep and aren’t pushing as hard.

But more importantly people are realizing that without reinforcements it’s actually possible to win without zerging.

The “hardcore rep grinders” are mostly PvEers and mindless people who were told one way of farming rep. Since the AV rep “grind” is extremely short enough to have never been considered a grind during vanilla, the term “hardcore rep grinders” is cringe.

Without reinforcements its possible to farm HKs forever. I actually think if we used 1.12 AV with 1.12 Honor Decay, it’d probably be the best AV in WoW’s entire history.

/shrug I’m sure just as many were from pvp realms, after all they have the same motivation.

If people are PvPing from rank they don’t have to “target rep”. Targeting honor will naturally get you exalted in AV in just one week. Why even treat rep with any serious concern?

Because they don’t have to wait a week for honor to roll over to see benefits from rep.

So what? And they don’t have to sacrifice their rank progression for 3 weeks just because they used a terrible rep targeting process that still doesn’t cut time off their rep progress.

And just because they’re on a pvp realm does not automatically mean they’re trying for a high rank. At which point the rep rewards becomes much more valuable than honor.

The “honor strat” is still better than the “rep strat” for rep. The fact that not a single person in WoWhead even thought to do the math on it reflects perfectly in the dumb mindset that Alliance have going into these battlegrounds.

And it also reflects the dependence people have on these sources which back then people at least THOUGHT ABOUT THINGS.

If you are consistently winning in exactly the right time. However dragging the match out increases the odds you might lose or end up in a turtle and that is ultimately worse than winning with less rep quickly.

Of course that’s purely from a rep stand point, as I said earlier now that people who really wanted that rep are getting there they’ll be pushing less for fast wins.

And from an honor stand point the losing side can easily end up with more honor is they try…

It’s not hard to win tho if you bring a raid geared tank and a couple healers.

We time the Q up and can usually get our BG players into AV. We push the objectives and the Alliance pugs see it then follow in suit.

Maximum honor and really doesn’t add a whole lot of extra work for a heap of extra honor.

We even back cap when we have enough of our raid team in BG.

The transformation that’s happened in the last 24 hrs has been immense. Last night, every AV was full of scoffs and QQs when the rush failed. But today all kinds of people are taking the time to cap, back cap, fill roles, etc. Horde intercepting your afk zerg? No problem, we just go somewhere else. Warmasters overwhelming your keyboard turning healers that can’t drink? No problem, we clear towers. Organically people see it work and repeat it in the next time and actually end up with a little bit of extra honor to top of our rep grind. Good job alliance, thanks for not being the slobs I thought you were.

Shame premades are abusing the afk system to kick people they dont want in group.

So far I have not seen that, but I have seen good old “click to help me summon”

Dear god, people actually still fall for that…

It no longer auto kicks which is a good thing. It’s a shame that people who actually stay in the AV cave and actually sit at the pond and fish are more resistant (and generally immune) to afk reporting.

You and me both friend, these PvE AV runs are really boring, I could care less about the rep and just want fights.

I don’t know. I was in an AV today where the entire horde team (except for 5 of us) just stood outside of Bel’s room and the entire alliance team went and killed the boss. It ended in like 8 minutes. :woman_shrugging:

Saw a lot of zergs yesterday, but today only 1.
